@corysimmons
peterramsing/lost#344 looks interesting
Were you ever able to break Lost's size calculator out to its own function?
Like width: lost-size(1/4); or something?
I think that'd be pretty nice and might solve #344
(as well as others)
Peter Ramsing
@peterramsing
I was just going to keep chipping away at the slated point releases and bring those into the 8.0 release but pulling from the backlog is also acceptable. What the community wants is what I want. :smile:

Julio Canares
@juliocanares_twitter
is there support for less?
Peter Ramsing
@peterramsing
@juliocanares_twitter Yes, LostGrid works with any pre-processed CSS.
Julio Canares
@juliocanares_twitter
I couldnt get it working, where can I read how to implement in less?
Peter Ramsing
@peterramsing
Your less should be transpiled to vanilla CSS before having LostGrid transpile it. My guess is you have your PostCSS build task before your less task in your task runner. I'm in an airport right now but if I get a moment to sit I'll link you to some stuff.
Peter Ramsing
@peterramsing
@juliocanares_twitter Were you able to get this or would you still like me to get you an example? I am working on adding install/workflow examples and instructions to the docs sites soon but let me know if you need anything specifically for your setup.

Hello there.
Is it possible to move lost cycle on 1 or n items?
smth like lost-colum: 1/3 (3+n) or (3+xn)
The thing is I have grid of several items but on tablets I need to hide first item and that breaks the whole grid logic
Peter Ramsing
@peterramsing
Hmm.
You can adjust the cycle, yes; but off the top of my head I don’t know if that solves your situation. I can double check in a bit via codepen.
Eugene Strukov
@eugene_strukov_twitter
That's a bit different thing. I'll try to explain in codepen.
Eugene Strukov

I just hid the first element
Cory Simmons
@corysimmons
@eugene_strukov_twitter Try masonry grid
"Masonry" grids are more flexible at the cost of a wrapping element.
I also noticed you're using Stylus still. The Stylus version of Lost hasn't been worked on for a million years so I don't even know if it has masonry support.
If postcss is too confusing though, Jeet is another grid system I made with a very similar syntax.
But is built in SCSS and Stylus.
I don't think it has masonry support, but it does have a size-getting function so you can do something like this...
Cory Simmons
@corysimmons
No time to mess with it right now, but it's possible with preprocessor loops and size-getting functions.

Hello there, I just published stylelint config for lost grid, can someone review the rules? I've been following the docs, but maybe something is still missing

hi everyone, is there a newer lost for stylus available on codepen? There is a v5.1.0, but quite different with the latest ...
Srimal Priyanga
@SrimalPriyanga
Hi @everyone, i'm new to lost grid. can anyone point me good tutorials about Lost -Grid
Peter Ramsing
@peterramsing
@nicolag LostGrid no longer supports Stylus but it can certainly still be used if you use Stylus if you additionally use PostCSS in your transposing. https://github.com/peterramsing/lost/wiki/Installation
@SrimalPriyanga You can always ask questions here or on Twitter and I'll try to get back to you. I'm also trying to find some additional time to help improve the documentation for new users–so any questions you have will be helpful in me updating the docs so please ask away.
@SrimalPriyanga As for some quick getting started tips, I have a few videos that can help (time pending, I'll try to get some more up soon): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHYmM0rBloyTelftsYtk93VgunoYmNkc5
@SrimalPriyanga You can also check out the getting started docs here: http://lostgrid.org/docs.html#getting-started

@peterramsing Thank you. I found that official documentation is little bit complicated for newbies to understand. hope you’ll make it better.
& if i’m going to use “Material Components for the web (MDC-Web)” with Lost-Grid, what are the benefits which i can have using Lost-Grid instead of MDC-Web Layout Grid ? i like to have an idea about this.
I’ll refer your videos,
Thanks again.
Peter Ramsing
@peterramsing
@SrimalPriyanga I’ll keep spending time adding some more getting-started things to the docs. Regarding Material Compoents vs LostGrid. I haven’t used it so I’m not sure.
@SrimalPriyanga After taking a quick glance at the Material Components Grid Layout, it looks like there are some similarities but LostGrid might be able to offer you more customization out of the box–but it looks like the MDC Layout stuff is solid. If that feels better to you then go for it!
Srimal Priyanga
@SrimalPriyanga
@peterramsing lost grid with MDC-Web seem to be good, Thanks for suggestion.
Nicola Guo
@nicolag

@peterramsing, yes I can use lost grid with Stylus by using postCSS, the problem is I don’t think I can do that on codepen, is there a way?

In our application we uses lost grid stylus and a few other libaries that built on stylus, but I use codepen as a live demo some responsive layout structure so that team members can see and play with, so if I could still use the latest lost-grid syntax on codepen without changing the whole preprocess to postCSS that will be awesome for my team. Do you know whether there is a work around?
