Indeed, it could be a lot easier, if I could be of any help regarding this problem, don't hesitate to ask 🙂
That's great, thanks!
Hey, is there a way to delete photos through the Android app (or the web ui for that matter)?
Hi @ShiniGandhi, thanks for your question. Currently Photonix does not yet support this but the feature is being worked on right now. You can follow progress here: photonixapp/photonix#299
Hello! Is it possible to reset the application and have it rescan everything? I know I could just drop all of the tables and run the initial setup, but I would like to keep the face training data and library setup path.
I'm having an issue where some deleted photos are still showing up in the thumbnails list (but clicking them doesn't show the photo, as expected) and the newly released "images with no time stamp being sorted in the timeline correctly" feature doesn't seem to affect existing photos. Figured I would just rescan everything, didn't know if it was possible.
I get too - I have to purge files with .trashed filenames. Check if you have any with ls -a in your photo directory?
No, there aren't any hidden files in the photo directories. I deleted some photos and it hasn't detected the deletion I suppose. But regardless I'd like a "rescan all" thing to reorganize the photos with no time stamps that are all at the top of the timeline.
Hi, I've been trying to get this up and running on Docker in my Mac and I've been experiencing multiple issues — no pictures or whatsoever despite being the folder, sometimes the sign-in doesn't work, sometimes I completely remove it but there is no new onboarding after new install, the settings don't save even if I change it. What am I missing? Thank you!
Hello. I noticed you made facial detection. Photonix does facial recognition (classification) too?
Hello all, I just installed photonixapp via docker following the install directions on GitHub. I brought the app up and ran the 2 commands that create a user and a album. I opened the app in my browser and it had a few onboarding steps. After finishing the onboarding steps, it kicks me to the login screen. But the login screen doesn't work. When I navigate to /login I see the username and password fields for a split second and then they disappear and there is just a blank page. I'm on Android and I have tried chromium, Firefox focus, Firefox, and bromite browsers. I also tried all those browsers with the "request desktop site* enabled. The same thing happens
So I added ~450 images to the photos directory to test things out and it's got a lot of errors and brought my server to a crawl(system load was 30+). I also think it didn't scan everything, but instead crashed and stopped scanning.
Sorry about using images over text logs, pita copying on my phone and I don't have my laptop on me atm
I have deleted a photo on the disk from a library that is being watched, however it is stil showing up in Photonix. Is there some sort of setting I need to enable to make it so that missing photos are removed (along with any metadata/thumbnail)? Seems like photonixapp/photonix#174 would have fixed this. In my case, the parent folder of the deleted photo was also deleted, so maybe inotify wouldn't pick that change up?
since Photonix appears to be written in Python/Django/React (?correct me, I only learned about it today!), I think you will not find an unbiased answer in this channel @Pheggas 😉
There are not all features avalible in the demo. Is there reason why there's not all features avalible to use?
hi there, I was very excited to try this but can’t seem to make it work. I followed the instruction for traefik closely but can’t get past the login page. The log keeps saying: upstream server temporarily disabled while connecting to upstream, client: 192.168.90.118, server: , request: "POST /graphql HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:8000/graphql", host: "photonix.example.net", referrer: "https://photonix.example.net/login"
I would appreciate it if anyone can give me some pointers
Actually, I'm facing the same problem (in my case, photonix being installed on a kubernetes cluster behind a physical nginx reverse-proxy)
I have a bunch (100K ish) photos stored in an S3 bucket. I've got them stored that way for ease of organizing, backing up, etc. I would love to be able to point photonix at these photos and have it work it's magic without having to move them... Is that something that is possible? If it helps at all I do have a WebDav endpoint (via mounting the S3 bucket on Nextcloud). Really appreciate any help or thoughts y'all might have!
I know this is for sure a damn stupid question but I am running the latest production version and I do have many high-res pics with faces in my library. But I cannot see any process or hint that photonix is scanning for faces or objects.... how do I start a scan procedure?
Kann ich es auch unter Windows zum laufen bringen ?
I'd like to propose a different behaviour when displaying selected photos not matter using the feature 'tag' / 'object' / 'face'. When I chose to filter photos showing 'cars' photonix is listing all photos showing cars, good, BUT when I click on a photo to enlarge it to fullsize mode and I want to browse through the selection using arrow keys, photonix will show unfiltered photos!
Hi there...anyone around?
I'm trying to get Photonix running on Docker Desktop on Windows Server 2019...I've got the containers running, but Postgresql keeps crashing out with the error: "running bootstrap script ... 2021-11-14 08:27:11.086 UTC FATAL: data directory "/var/lib/postgresql/data" has invalid permissions" - I set the security permissions for the db folder in Windows to Full Rights for Everyone - but that didn't help. I assume I need to add a RUN command to the docker-compose.yml to change permissions from inside the container? Does anyone know how I might make that work?
I want to give Photonix a try but how would I go about writing the tags into the files themselves not just the Photonix database?
Hi all, There’s been a bit of a lull recently in Photonix development from my side. My partner and I have been awaiting the arrival of our first child and naturally there have been things we’ve needed to get ready. Baby hasn’t yet joined us but I now have a bit more time to work on the project again. Thank you to everyone who’s continued to support the project and submit code improvements. Stay tuned.
Is there any way to kick off facial recognition within the docker? It seems to identify a few pictures but stops for some reason -- every picture has object detection but most don't have facial
