k - i'm done for a bit
5.3 and 5.3.3 were failing, so i added them to the allowed failures list
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 00:17
probably the array syntax?
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 00:17
Yea
You okay with the changes I've made so far?
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 00:21
yes, great
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 00:21
cool
there is something about the green on travis-ci, it makes me sleep better at night :D
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 00:52
yep :)
I changed the ORM to use long array syntax, gonna see if 5.3 tests will run now
tests are passing and the allow_failures were removed
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 00:56
Awesome! Thanks :)
:+1:
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:38
I improved a bit on the phpunit setup
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:38
cool
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:39
I think the autoloader was being loaded twice with your bootstrap.php + vendor/autoload.php
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:40
Looks good :shipit:
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:40
yep, and I'm starting to get the hang of rebasing and using branches in git
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:41
Once you get the hang of that, lemme know :palm_tree:
then you can show me :D
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:42
well, I'm using SourceTree, so I won't learn much about git on cli
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:42
i'm using sourcetree as well
also started using phpstorm, trying to match what i thought everyone else was using
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:44
I have this local branch I'm working on and when I pull from master, I don't merge but rebase my branch on top of the changes.
which is pretty neat
I doubt you'll regret trying PHPStorm! It's awesome
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:45
I tried it a year or two ago, and i never really gave it a chance
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:46
what did you use before?
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:46
sublime text
before that, notepad++
before that nano
before that vi
should you push your local dev branch to github?
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:47
I went from notepad++ to netbeans to phpstorm when it comes to php
that's what I'm doing as long as your changes fit?
or what do you mean?
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:48
you gonna share your local branch? :D
i'm not a git pro, i'm a git newb
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:48
oh, ok
sure, it's a branch anyway, it shouldn't hurt
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:49
i like voyeurism, but with code, not the other stuff
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 01:50
there's a refactor branch
maybe have a look at Design sketch.svg, that's the general idea
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 01:51
k
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:01
nice
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:02
code voyeurism is a great way to get better
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:04
heh - i just learned :D
didn't realize switching the branch in sourcetree changes the code in your local folder
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:06
if you don't want to mess with uncommitted files before switching, just stash the files
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:07
so if i'm working on refactor, but i'm not done. stash them, hop on master, make a quick fix (if it was needed), commit/push. jump back to refactor branch?
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:08
yes
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:08
got it, thanks :)
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:09
Repository > Stash changes
afterwards you get a new item below Branches and Remotes so you can apply your stash again
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:10
i'll try it out real quick
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:11
OR you can just commit your changes before switching and clean up later
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:13
works just like you said, thanks
so, we are called phparsenal?
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:14
apparently
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:14
am i in the group? :)
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:15
we just really wanted to get started and picked that
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:15
i still like wapper
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:15
considering you're already helping out, of course :)
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:15
yay! :clap:
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:16
yeah, I'd prefer wapper too. I'm noticing the "arse" in arsenal too much
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:16
i hadn't noticed that
but now i am
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:16
do you need an invite for something? There's the Trello board and the github org
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:16
im on both
phparsenal limits us to just php, even though i'm sure that's what we will probably primarily do, but with wapper... we could code other things
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:17
there's also the IRC channel which is dead right now. we'll see how it works when it gets busy on gitter
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:17
also on irc
i'm levi
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:17
oh, d'oh
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:19
hmmm, i can't access one of my servers
wonder if fail2ban got me
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:19
hah
I use a keyfile for a non-root user and fail2ban on default settings
should be good
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:20
i have a keyfile... might be an ipv6 issue
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:21
and forbid password-only sudo ssh attempts
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:22
hmm, it was an issue with connecting via ipv6
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:22
guess in a few minutes you can start worrying :/
ah ok
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:22
also, ssh doesn't run on 22
hhmmmm websites are loading over ipv4 too
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:25
btw, you can get on gitter via IRC: https://irc.gitter.im/
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:25
that's neat :D
i got the app for my phone
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 02:26
yeah, that's why highlighting works for me
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:30
hmm, not an issue with my server, i don't have an ipv6 address at the moment
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 02:44
yay - ipv6 back
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 03:31
btw, it's possible Dia is pretty much the only decent UML/modeling tool not requiring java
everything else is eclipse based or similar
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 03:32
never used it
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 03:33
no bugs that I noticed and intuitive enough
there's Dia2Code or something like that to create php classes but I haven't tried that
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 03:34
Not sure I would trust it, but would definitely try it
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 03:35
wouldn't want to rely on it, but could be useful
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 03:36
Yea
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 15:39
Nochso :)
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 15:40
hi
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 15:40
You ever sleep?
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 15:41
my sleep schedule does what it wants outside of work :)
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 15:41
Heheh
I'm gonna pull and test on my machine, when I finally wake up
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 15:43
I'm glad I got it to work on linux
let me know if you figure out a better way
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 15:44
K
I'm going for a run first, bbiab
Levi Durfee
@levidurfee
Jun 14 2015 20:28
is there a reason you don't want to use tee?
Marcel Voigt
@nochso
Jun 14 2015 20:35
just trying to avoid writing to a file
first time I ever used tee though, so what do I know :D
