How did you installed phpbrew? What terminal/shell are you using? What OS?
Dalton A Mitchell
@daltonamitchell
Sorry, using OSX and the install instructions on homepage
bash shell
1) curl to download
2) chmod file
3) sudo mv to /usr/bin and /usr/local/bin (neither works)
phpbrew init
???
I had trouble linking openssl in the requirements section... could that be the cause
Kept getting this error:
Warning: Refusing to link: openssl
Linking keg-only openssl means you may end up linking against the insecure,
deprecated system OpenSSL while using the headers from Homebrew's openssl.
Instead, pass the full include/library paths to your compiler e.g.:
  -I/usr/local/opt/openssl/include -L/usr/local/opt/openssl/lib

Yea, I must be doing something wrong or have some existing config conflict

I just upgraded to sierra, and I'm definitely having no fun ;) haha
I have php56 running as it should from the CLI; however, apache doesn't seem to be loading php info at all
blob
according to a phpinfo(); from a site hosted by apache; Configuration File (php.ini) Path /etc; so I symlinked /etc/php.ini to /usr/local/etc/php/5.6/php.ini`
and still no dice after restarting apache
anyone have any ideas? :)

Hi! Do you guys know how to set ENV.cx11 for configure? (phpbrew/phpbrew#899)
Sergei Morozov
@morozov

I'm not sure what ENV.cxx11 means in brew nomenclature.

Same here. I tried googling it but it looks like something specific only to intl in the context of Homebrew (see also needs: cxx11).

@mirfilip
Thx @morozov, I'll have a look at it tomorrow

@morozov I tried to follow up on what you suggested with but I'm not sure how to change build-time switches like -std=c++11 just for php-intl. Any ideas?

hi guys, does anyone have a fix for checking for cURL 7.10.5 or greater... configure: error: cURL version 7.10.5 or later is required to compile php with cURL support while i have 7.29.0 installed?

if I switch to a certain version. I should be able to use mysql as long as the mysql and pdo variant is included right?
kapitanluffy
@kapitanluffy
weird that when I switch to php7, replace the module in httpd. I can't seem to connect to my database
Sergei Morozov
@morozov
@kapitanluffy what kind of error do you get when trying to connect?
kapitanluffy
@kapitanluffy
"cannot connect to server" in phpmyadmin and "file not found" when creating a PDO object with 2002 mysql error
@morozov
Sergei Morozov
@morozov
@kapitanluffy If you're connecting to localhost, then most likely the problem is incorrectly configured socket path. See mysqli.default_socket or pdo_mysql.default_socket. Make sure the path is correct or try using 127.0.0.1 as the host instead of localhost.
kapitanluffy
@kapitanluffy
@morozov yeah noticed that the default sockt is undefined https://imgur.com/a/jI0jEAB ..is there any configs that i should pass?
this is my install command
phpbrew install -j $(nproc) --stdout --name=php70 7.0 +default +gd +apxs2 +pdo +mysql +sqlite +openssl=/usr -- --with-libdir=lib64 --with-gd --with-pdo-mysql

Hi all, I'm just starting to understand phpbrew concept.
My question is: can I install phpbrew with an existing PHP version?
FrancoFasano
@FrancoFasano
If yes phpbrew can manage this version as the phpbrew installed versions?
Sergei Morozov
@morozov

My question is: can I install phpbrew with an existing PHP version?

You'll have to have an existing PHP before you start using PhpBrew because it's written in PHP.

If yes phpbrew can manage this version as the phpbrew installed versions?

PhpBrew cannot manage the system PHP version. You can only switch PhpBrew off to start using the PHP version.

@FrancoFasano
Hi Sergei, many thanks for your support.
I have installed phpbrew, not easely but I success with many effort.
Now I had the PHP version used by phpbrew , I add 5.6.21, 7.0 & 7.2.9 all installation succeed.
It seems to be OK, when I run:
phpbrew use 7.2.9 or
phpbrew use 5.6.21
an error message:
php version: php-7.2.9 not exists.
I run:
phpbrew list
  • (system)
    7.2.9-dev
    7.0-dev
    5.6.21-dev
an idea ?
FrancoFasano
@FrancoFasano
phpbrew on
Sergei Morozov
@morozov
@FrancoFasano you need to specify the build name completely, not just the version. E.g. phpbrew use 7.2.9-dev. The reason is that there may be multiple builds of the same version.
Make sure you use shell completion (see phpbrew bash or phpbrew zsh). This way, you won't have to keep all build names in mind.
FrancoFasano
@FrancoFasano
OK I run the <code>phpbrew use 7.2.9-dev</code> and all seems to be OK
<code> php -v
PHP 7.2.9 (cli) (built: Aug 25 2018 21:27:11) ( NTS )
Copyright (c) 1997-2018 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v3.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2018 Zend Technologies </code>
Now I check with phpinfo.php the server version and the result is:
