    Hey, Can someone tell me how to run a query in phpMyAdmin? I'm working on something and I need to run a query. Can you tell me what all classes I should import? And how to establish a database connection? The query I need to run is "SHOW VARIABLES LIKE "validate_password%";

    @Nilesh2000
    I am trying to clone the phpmyadmin codebase but at the moment I do not have a very stable internet connection. I can get the connection back any moment, but then the git clone process already stopped working, and no way to get it running again. Is there some way to have a more failure-resistant git clone download?

    @shucon
    @20anirudh as pointed by Yash, you can start contributing by finding an issue in the tracker that seems interesting to you. You might also want to leave a comment on the issue that you're currently working on it.
    Also, you can take a look at https://www.phpmyadmin.net/develop/
    20anirudh
    @20anirudh

    Yash Raj Bothra
    @yashrajbothra
    Hey @20anirudh are you talking about local setup or demo website?
    20anirudh
    @20anirudh
    Local setup
    Kartik Kathuria
    @kartik1000
    Have you checked config.inc.php and checked AllowPassword?
    20anirudh
    @20anirudh
    Config.inc.php in not present in cloned phpmyadmin it is also not present in github repo
    Now it is not showing any error ... It was due to a chrome extension .... After removing that extension error has gone
    Thanks @kartik1000

    @MostafaHamedAbdelmasoud
    @20anirudh Config.inc.sample.php is the new name of config in cloned version.....just edit edit this line $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = true;
    and add these lines in config.inc.sample.php: $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config';
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root';
    $cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = ''; and don't forget to change file's name to config.inc.php to let the browser read it properly, it worked for me

    Hey,
    Does anyone know how to change the pMA language in version 5.0.2-dev? I can't find the option to do so.

    @rabeehrz
    @kartik1000 I know it usually appears there, but it isn't there. Here
    Even in the demo server, it works fine. Idk why it isn't working here
    Yash Raj Bothra
    @yashrajbothra
    hey @rabeehrz add locales folder in you PMA then it will show up
    Mohammed Rabeeh
    @rabeehrz
    @yashrajbothra I've added the folder. It hasn't come up yet. Do I need to run a script or something?
    Yash Raj Bothra
    @yashrajbothra
    @rabeehrz what i did was i downloaded latest stable release from 5.0.1 and copied locale folder from there and it worked fine :)
    Mohammed Rabeeh
    @rabeehrz
    @yashrajbothra Thanks, It worked!
    MaurĂcio Meneghini Fauth
    @mauriciofauth
    You should run scripts\generate-mo script to generate the locales.
    Mohammed Rabeeh
    @rabeehrz
    @mauriciofauth Ah thanks. I knew I was missing something.
    20anirudh
    @20anirudh
    How can i understand file structure and codebase any suggestions ??
    Mohammed Rabeeh
    @rabeehrz
    @20anirudh You can download the code for pMA and meddle around with. Try changing some strings and see what all gets changed. Also, make sure you know PHP (OOP) and JS (JQuery). You’ll be kinda lost without them.
    20anirudh
    @20anirudh
    Can't we add new pr if we have pending pr ??
    Yash Raj Bothra
    @yashrajbothra
    No, You are allowed to open multiple PRs for multiple issues.
    Kartik Kathuria
    @kartik1000
    Yes, you can for a different issue. @20anirudh
    Mohammed Rabeeh
    @rabeehrz
    @20anirudh You have to create a different branch if you’re opening up a pr for another issue.
    20anirudh
    @20anirudh
    Okay thanks đź‘Ť
    MaurĂcio Meneghini Fauth
    @mauriciofauth
    Try to keep your master branch clear and do changes only on new branches
