Hey guys, have been trying to get started with Eto.Forms but have hit a roadblock I can't seem to find a way around. Added a new Panel (XAML) to my shared project, and when I try to construct an instance of it, I get '{"Value cannot be null.\r\nParameter name: input"}'. Error seems to be in XML deserialization. Would appreciate any pointers you can give me.

Ok, have found a workaround -- when I used the "Add item" menu option in VS, the .xeto and .xeto.cs weren't added to the project correctly. The "LogicalName" and "DependentUpon" sections were omitted from the project's XML. Editing it by hand to look like the other form seems to work.

j4m3z0r: glad you figured it out.. not sure what is needed on the plugin's end to make that work better

Thanks for the reply @cwensley. Is XAML a well-supported way to use the toolkit, or am I better off in the long run switching to another mode? JSON or straight code or something?

xaml is better supported than json, and a lot of people are using it so far afaik.

Ok, great. Are there open source projects that use a decent subset of the XAML support? I've been looking for examples, but the ones I've found have tended to be cshtml or just assemble UI directly in code.

Let me know if you happen to remember. Would be good to have something to refer to instead of needing to bother you every time! :)

this might give you an idea of who's using it: https://github.com/search?utf8=✓&q=filename%3Axeto.cs&type=Code

Ha. I didn't know you could do that -- that's a good trick!
Thanks. I'll dig through those and see if I can find something to use as a reference. Really appreciate the help.

no problem.. might be better to search for .xeto directly I guess: https://github.com/search?p=1&q=filename%3Axeto&type=Code&utf8=✓
