some low end android device, like the (in)famous galaxy s3
it's the most popular android device, but it doesnt mean a lot because it is 4% of the android market :p

trying to get into writing specs for my code - but not sure how to deal with the existance of PIXI throughout. should I just stub all the things I use from PIXI, or should I write a wrapper to make all of my calls not be aware they're directly working with PIXI? or is there a better way...

you'll have to redo it for v4 anyway ;)

i don't intend to upgrade unless i need to
if it works, i don't see the point in changing it

So I checked our custom PIXI version to see if I forgot something but everything else shouldn't be in PIXI, maybe plugins but that's another story
The only function that I found maybe useful is one to get the relative position of an object to a specified parent
I never understood how toGlobal and toLocal works
that may be useless but if not, it looks like this
We use it a lot to set the position of an object relative to another one that isn't in the same container

BTW I looked a bit about signed distance fields fonts to see what it is
It is very nice and could easily replace standard BitmapFont
however it won't fix the need for regular ttf fonts since it uses a bitmap image too
it means that you can't deal with internationalization easily
cyrilic, arabic, chiness, etc characters won't work (if you do not use a 16k*16k texture i mean :p
We're stuck with canvas texture until something like GLTT comes to webgl
