@JiDW pixijs/pixi.js#2465 , I hope it will be merged soon. You asked that sprite size wont affect scale, right?
@nicholaswagner are you using v3 or newest v4? (docs arent updated yet)

Nicholas Wagner

yeah. I think in the future i'll be doing everything via npm
seemed redundant having both

if you dont use some esoteric shader stuff it will work, i think

Thanks! My current requirements actually have me developing for canvas first. So i'm not even touching shaders yet.

ok, you can use v4 then. also there's my version at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46636530/pixijs/spriteframe/pixi.js , where you can change size of sprites without affecting scale
just do sprite.size.x = 100; and sprite will be exactly 100 pixels width, aspect ratio will be preserved, and scale of children wont be affected
It will be merged in dev soon :)

I did that patch only yesterday
and previous attempt was rejected because it did break some things
theoretically this thing can also affect performance on canvas, but tests didnt show it
I hoped that i saved few javascript operations :)

there's also that thing, if you want to rotate texture or flip it : http://pixijs.github.io/examples/index.html?s=demos&f=texture-rotate.js&title=Texture%20Rotate
dont have to set scale.x to -1 :)
