Hi everyone. I want to make a webgl accelerated plot, that should be able to plot many points (say 10^5-10^6. From what I can gather for gl I would need to write a fragment shader to do this. The examples of this that I found all relates to writing filters, but I just want to draw. Can anyone point me towards some information about how to do this and maybe tell me if pixi is the project to use.

or of course, whether there is a simpler way, of handing of the draw instructions for many points of to the GPU

look into PIXI.mesh.Mesh sources. The same way you can implement LINES mode
ususe the one in latest pixi (v4, master or dev branch)
a couple of coders had their own implementations for plotting, but they failed to make it as a reusable plugin
its child play for me, but im just lazy to implement it.
i can update pixi-plugin-example if you make a working implementation

seriously , you will spend the same time doing that in webgl raw, or in pixi. better to do it in pixi, cause youll have access to helper methods and pixi-gl-core lib

@ivanpopelyshev Thanks. You wouldn't happen to be able to point to towards a few of those existing implementations?

lo all. sorry to jump in slightly off topic and demand help but I am having issues with rendertexture when used with canvasrenderer, anyone have any experience with this?
the source container passed into the renderer is being transformed from original size and not being reset even
updateTransform is set to true on renderTexture.render

Hey, has anyone managed to disable anti-aliasing? I keep getting a canvas that looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/pGmplub.png, when I set the antialias flag to false and I've no idea why - it just ignores the flag

Oh, also tried gl.texParameteri(gl.TEXTURE_2D, gl.TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, gl.NEAREST) but that didn't change anything

A'ight, gathered a lot more info on it. Since no-one else has spotted it, I'll make a detailed issue
