@englercj I have tried a build without using textures (purely Graphics and Text objects in containers) and I am still getting performance issues. Currently getting around 30-40 fps with a 20x20 grid of containers with a shape and Text object. Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Ahhh, text objects cause the slowdown. I remove those and I get a consistent 60fps.

I tried using BitmapText, but that didn't improve performance. Is there any other way to display text and keep 60fps? These containers are interactive so using the DOM to display font won't be easy.

I ended up creating a texture from the graphics object and used a sprite. So now that the containers only use sprites, performance is better. So I can either display all of these containers, or use generateTexture to create a single sprite for each container. I would like to do that, but it ends up blocking the main thread. Is there another way to use generateTexture without blocking?
