No source file named /home/id/Documents/PlatformIO/Projects/blue-pill-arduino-blink/src/main.cpp. (from break-insert "/home/id/Documents/PlatformIO/Projects/blue-pill-arduino-blink/src/main.cpp:22")
because that is the main.cpp file from the other project, which is now closed
i did what you said, and i'm debugging not building
Mike Dunston
@atanisoft
then you may not have options
Dreamcat4
@dreamcat4_gitlab
ok i believe i have noticed now that my breakpoints list is universal across all open projects
so the old breakpoint from the (now closed) other project is still listed and enabled in there
disabling those breakpoints has supressed the error msg
to so i guess that is the 'VSCode Universal Debugger'. it would be nice if they had it keep seperate state for each open project
Mike Dunston
@atanisoft
could be
Dreamcat4
@dreamcat4_gitlab
interesting, now that i have it working that this mbed environment isn't interrupting the while() loop. When i set a breakpoint inside there. perhaps that might be because it's RTOS
doing weird stuff

good luck!

Hello
Does anyone know how to enable SPIFFS on an ESP32 with PlatformIO?
liebman
@liebman
By default I think it will find it if you include the header file. I usually disable the auto library finding and do lib_deps = FS SPIFFS
Anyone know how framework-arduino-avr-attiny is generated and how it gets updated? I want a newer version of the core, it has Micronucleus (USB) support and I want to try it out.
liebman
@liebman

Ok figured out I can do this:

platform_packages =
; use git version
framework-arduino-avr-attiny @ https://github.com/SpenceKonde/ATTinyCore.git
extra_scripts = pre:fix_attiny_package.py

And the python:

import os
from shutil import move

Import("env")

FRAMEWORK_DIR = env.PioPlatform().get_package_dir("framework-arduino-avr-attiny")
avr_dir = os.path.join(FRAMEWORK_DIR, "avr")

if os.path.isdir(avr_dir):
files = os.listdir(avr_dir)
for f in files:
move(os.path.join(avr_dir, f), FRAMEWORK_DIR)
os.rmdir(avr_dir)

I'm trying to increase the size of the SPIFFS partition with a csv file, I create the file but it doesn't seem to follow it, not even if it has mistakes in it. Even if I replace the file with an empty one or one with garbage, pio run runs successfully. If I delete the file, it fails, what might be the problem?
Stavros Korokithakis
@skorokithakis
God damnit, if you call the file default.csv it just ignores it, this is terrible
I lost two days over this

Hello guys, I'm having some trouble in setting up a dependency in my platformio.ini file.
It is now required to add as the prefix of the dependency, the username of the user. I cannot find that for example here:

is there a way to use the current platformio with platform arduino, espidf on Clion IDE ?
here portion of my platformio.ini
platform = espressif32@2.0.0
framework = arduino, espidf
platform_packages =
toolchain-xtensa32 @ ~2.80200.0
framework-arduinoespressif32 @ https://github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32.git#idf-release/v4.0
work well with pio run, but since the plugin don't work anymore with this setup, i wonder if workaround exist

Hi guys. I got Platformio on atom Linux. But the console doesn't work. Anyone knows about it?

Hey all, are there any plans to support a tooilchain for low.js or espruino and for the supportes micro processors? It would be cool to have all in one plugin with different possibilites to use C/C++ or python or js :)

Hi dear experts, I have an issue with compiling an Arduino library on esp-idf using Arduino as a component (on platformIO):
Message is "Serial' was not declared in this scope"
The library uses Serial.println from the arduino component, that seems to be not available while compiling
Any help is appreciated!

Hi ! I have a fairly weird issue:
I have a project with the following platformio.ini:

board_build.partitions = partition.csv
platform = espressif32
framework = arduino, espidf
board = esp32-wroom
monitor_speed = 115200
platform_packages =
        framework-arduinoespressif32 @ https://github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32.git#idf-release/v4.0
        framework-espidf @ https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf.git#release/v4.2

When I run a compilation(pio run -t upload), it says that it successfully downloaded esp-idf, with the version I asked it to. However, when I go into my ~/.platformio/packages/framework-espidf, the content is not esp-idf at all:

➜  framework-espidf ls
cjson-utils-tests.json  package.json  README.md  spec_tests.json  tests.json  version.txt

Which seems to be this repository: https://github.com/DaveGamble/cJSON/tree/master/tests/json-patch-tests

Any idea of what's happening ?

the ls -a is actually the following:

.   cjson-utils-tests.json  .gitignore  package.json  README.md        tests.json
..  .editorconfig           .npmignore  .piopm        spec_tests.json  version.txt

with the .piopm file containing the following:

{"type": "tool", "name": "framework-espidf", "version": "1.1.0+sha.8cd16b6", "spec": {"owner": "platformio", "id": null, "name": "framework-espidf", "requirements": null, "url": "git+https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf.git#release/v4.2"}}

Okay, so my problem was the lack of package.json file in the esp-idf repository. Is there another solution than forking esp-idf, and having to maintain my version of it ? (or hoping they'll accept a PR). Moreover, does anyone know how the default esp-idf (when no platform_packages is given) has a package.json ? Does pio maintain a custom version of it ?

Hey people, PlatformIO is just supporting C/C++ based controllers, right? No Espruino, or other JavaScript based boards?
