hi all, is there someone who can explain me the difference between the Arduino Core for ESP32 and the PlatformIO Core for ESP32?

is PlatformIO core aligned with the Arduino Core or with the IDF directly? What are the difference between the two?

Suppose that my code is tested with the Arduino Core, should I say that it will run great even with PlatformIO core?

Hi have a setup.json file stored in my LittleFS memory...
if I reload the same firmware using Arduino OTA the file isn't readable right after flash...
never experienced this problem before...

Since the latest upgrade to Platformio 5.2 I'm experiecing some weird issue with the OTA Upload. I've got the exact same error described here:

but it works if I use Arduino IDE. any suggestion?

ESP32 support is alive and well, but seems that PIO has not picked up the newer arduino-esp32 2.0.0

but it does work with a few overrides in the platformio.ini file

I am on day 3 of playing with pio#arduino-upstream and esp32 s2, also trying to figure out why my ota doesnt work, but other than that its not bad

but its not a timeout issue, its something with partitions

@sblantipodi have you tried the delay(1) in runupdate loop mod?

ESP32 Arduino 2.0.1 based on ESP-IDF 4.4 is out... we still don't have the 2.0.0...

yes, it can support it. But you will need to override the version

there are a bunch of tracking issues on the arduino-esp32 repo (some closed, some not) due to PIO not having a release containing arduino-esp32 2.0.x
