re-pushed and now the comments are no longer present

I do have another question
Is there a simple way to programmatically generate the tab configuration for rubric elements?

E.g., like

comment 1.1 goes in tab 1
comment 1.2 goes in tab 1

comment 2.1 goes in tab 2
comment 2.2 goes in tab 2

etc

Is there just a .toml somewhere I can write to?

es
yes
log out the user
then RubricsAndPanefulUserData/ or some dumb name
On server: userRubricPaneData/rubricPanes.user2.3.json
oh no, it doesn't use the option that makes json readable...
human readable
fkobayashi
@fkobayashi:matrix.org
[m]
so edit that json file?
cbm
@cbm755:matrix.org
[m]
carefully :)

Nice

@cbm755:matrix.org
[m]
let me know if not self explanatory
I think the list of lists is the IDs of rubrics
note: these only point to existing rubrics, which ones in which tab, tab names etc

I've been noticing that json seems to never get written to?
cbm
@cbm755:matrix.org
[m]
oops meant to tell you this
only synced when you manually force a refresh and when you quit the client
thanks for reminder, must tell Omer
fkobayashi
@fkobayashi:matrix.org
[m]
When I quit the client it doesn't seem to get written to either I think
maybe because I'm closing the client through my window manager instead of with one of the buttons?
cbm
@cbm755:matrix.org
[m]
that would be a bug then, it is supposed to
ah there used to be problems with that
thought we fixed them... but maybe not
if its some xkill-like force quit then... "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"
fkobayashi
@fkobayashi:matrix.org
[m]
Perfect, seems to work whenever I use the buttons to exit
cbm
@cbm755:matrix.org
[m]
but clicking the "x" button on "normal" non-fancy-Arch-using window managers should work
seriously, that could be a bug, when you're less stressed, write us an issue about exactly how you quit Plom normally
fkobayashi
@fkobayashi:matrix.org
[m]
I think it might be a decent idea to try and save pane configurations prior to the first exit, since I've had some experiences where I'm halfway through entering all my rubric elements and then plom crashes, and...
Awesome sure

Its waiting on improvments to background uploader/downloader
fkobayashi
@fkobayashi:matrix.org
[m]
I'm using bspwm; the exact command I'm using through sxkhd is
# close and kill
super + {_,shift + }w
    bspc node -{c,k}

@cbm755:matrix.org
[m]
we don't want to wait for blocking API calls (like sync rubrics) so we just don't do them :)
fkobayashi
@fkobayashi:matrix.org
[m]
neat
cbm
@cbm755:matrix.org
[m]
The code to download/upload other data is already too complicated, needs overhaul. Once that is fixed, we can easily sync rubrics everytime you change them or via polling or whatever

got it

Colin --- I'm giving a seminar talk at 4 and haven't finished my slides yet. Any chance I can meet with you after the talk for canvas integration updates?

fkobayashi: how to I (as instructor) look at the PDFs uploaded by your push_to_canvas?
