    @svx what about bringing the plone docs or at least the plone api into DevDocs? https://github.com/Thibaut/devdocs/wiki/Adding-documentations-to-DevDocs
    it's really cool and has offline support, so always with you even on the train or plane ;)
    sven
    @svx
    @MrTango great work on bobtemplates ! Awesome !
    @MrTango but can we tal about the docs I am getting a bit worried with the latest commits in the WIP branch about the docs :)
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    Why? I'm thinking about using read the docs for this package. I'm not sure if it makes sense to but I directly into docs.plone
    .org
    BTW there was only a readme before.
    sven
    @svx
    Well, this decision is not on me, that is on the community, but using .. include and including the whole readme as intro is just really reakky bad :)
    does not mater where you host it, it is bad :)
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    We should also have more detailed docs in the plone docs but for the package details pointing to read the docs
    sven
    @svx
    also if we take it now out of docs.plone.orh, who is doing all the worlk and fixing the the docs on docs.plone.org, whet we link to teh document and so on ? :)
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    Ah i ask Thomas to too something like that, but didn't had a look so far.
    sven
    @svx
    the idea is not to have to maintain docs on various locations, they will get out of sync fats, show different info and so on
    do you have a solution for that ?
    we had this problem before :)
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    I'm open for your suggestions
    sven
    @svx
    hehe :)
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    The reason to include the readme, is that is usually has doublicated content with the index page of the actual docs. You can see that in many packages and it's hard to keep them in sync
    sven
    @svx
    to be short the is a huge difference between a README and a intro, so including a README as intor is bad :), differnt style of reST, most of the time different audience at least partly and much more, and I did not venet started over the badges and such :), so please, please do not do that :)
    a README is also not a index, that is a typical developer thing, but it is wrong :)
    That is also the reason why we came up with a guide fora readme, maybe we should also make one for a index.rst ? Would that help ?
    of course with explaining why and such
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    But if you go to the docs without reading the readme before you might miss some info
    sven
    @svx
    Nope, why ?
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    Or we have to doublicated it
    sven
    @svx
    A Reame is not for docs
    nope why ?
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    Like features, provided templates in this case
    Then most readme are wrong
    sven
    @svx
    I do not see the problem, what you do with a README is giving a short overview for teh right audience which is usually devs, in the docs you go into the deep with full explanations and so on..yes that is true, most README are wrong
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    So what should be in the readme and what in the doc's? Please give us an example for bobtemplates.plone
    The audience are only devs here
    It's a dev tool
    Maybe you can try to split it like you think it's best.
    We should also improve this inside the templates
    So that's clear for everyone, who started a new package.
    sven
    @svx
    Yeah I will do that :) I say first continue and when I am back from the Write The Docs conference, which will be in two weeks I will work on that
    The 'special thing' with the readme of bobtemplates is, that I told that Phillip already a long time ago, and there is/was even a open GitHub issue about that :)
    But yeah, it will work out ! :)
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    thx
    sven
    @svx
    np :)

    @newbazz
    Hey can I apply for gci mentor?
    Maik Derstappen
    @MrTango
    Hi, now that we have bobtemplates.plone 3.1.1 final out, it's time to update docs and trainings. Because the calles are a bit diffent now and also the new sub-templates. The plonecli is useable already too, so it probably makes sense to rewrite the docs/trainigns to just use plonecli directly.
