@pkese You can create the time stream using Kefir.fromEvents or, depending on the API of the player, but I guess one of those will do. As for having the time stream before the player ready, you can indeed first create a playerReady stream that will emit a single value when player is ready, and the do playerReady.flatMap(() => { /* create and return 'time' stream here */ }), as @raimohanska suggests. Or you can create a Kefir.pool() and then plug time to it when ready, but using flatMap is more declarative and better.
