awesome
So Sonya Moisset has been preparing the UI challenge for this week. Around the third week of this month we think we could do a hackathon
but the biggest issue is the varying level of camp members

That's very true
What will the focus of the hackathon be?
front end?
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 05:35
so i believe the goal is to have a hackathon via webcam (like slack or codepen)and yes front end
maybe different challenges per level
what do you think?
yes, maybe a simple app for advanced and some bootstrap webdesign for intermediate, and basic html page for beginner….something like that

I love the idea of getting people to collaborate together
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 05:38
the biggest part is collaborating with different camps to make projects together
he he exactly

@prashcr
Jan 03 2016 05:38

I am from the Busan camp.
Prashanth Chandra
@prashcr
Jan 03 2016 05:39
Though, webcam should be completely optional
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 05:40
yes, we have many outlets for communication that can be optional definitely
:)

For beginner challenge, I think trying to recreate the google homepage might be a good idea
Simple, but there's lots of different ways of doing things and ideas that people could share and learn from
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 05:42
yes, that is why working with different camps is really great
Sorry, I wrote I am not from the busan camp. I am from the Seoul camp, but the Busan camp wants to join too
and the Sasbeo (?spelling) camp in Japan
Prashanth Chandra

The busan camp admin is talking with members from the Tokyo camp too.
I think everyone needs to join in the discussions. Maybe we can set up a time for next weekend to all talk together. What do you think?

But I'm mostly free anyways
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 05:50

Hey you two, sorry, just reading all this now.
Everything sounds great!
For communications, could we do the hackathon over Gitter and using Codepen?
Campers should be pretty familiar with both of these, whereas not everyone might have Slack
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 06:14
yes I think those two outlets are fine
Zach Valenta
@zachvalenta
Jan 03 2016 06:15
I think Google homepage for beginners is a great idea
Bootstrap for intermediates as well
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 06:15
me too. I think for beginners that is a really cool project
:)
so shall we all discuss together @2 next Sunday?
Zach Valenta
@zachvalenta
Jan 03 2016 06:16
Also, next Sunday works for me as well
sounds good!
so for next week we'll discuss...
hackathon dates
hackathon projects
anything else?
which camps will participate?
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 06:19
We should have Busan, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Shanghai for sure. Maybe Tokyo, Sasbeo, and Daegu too.
Amanda Krummel
@jupiterpenny
Jan 03 2016 06:26
yes, next week we should plan the hackathon dates and project.
if there are anyother camps you know of that are interested that would be great!
Zach Valenta
@zachvalenta
Jan 03 2016 06:34
I'm tempted to try and rope Beijing into this, too, but then again smaller (at least to start) might be better.
Then again, Shanghai is a small group. Would be shocked if we had more than a few folks participate.
Zach Valenta
@zachvalenta
Jan 03 2016 07:48
Can you guys add the admins of any other FCC groups we're thinking of including?
I don't know anyone else...
