    flogo-oss on gh-pages

    Deploy TIBCOSoftware/flogo to g… (compare)

A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
I am talking about Flogo, it also gets added to <<GO HOME>>/bin/ folder?
Leon Stigter
@retgits
It depends... have you set the GOBIN environment variable after installing go?
Andy Hampshire
@ayh20
This is a go thing ... when you build a go exe it goes to the users local go bin ... that should be in your path
Leon Stigter
@retgits
If the GOBIN environment variable is set, commands are installed to the directory it names
Andy Hampshire
@ayh20
but as Leon says you can redirect it ... but it builds the exe and put it in a directory ... that dir needs to be in the PATH
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
NO, I did not set GOBIN Variable.
In unix what is the path. I checked user home -> /home/<<username>>
Did not find it
Leon Stigter
@retgits
It depends on where you installed go...
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
/usr/local/go/bin - this is go path and that is already in Path Variable
Leon Stigter
@retgits
Most tutorials to install go let you install it in /usr/local/bin
Yeah, that bin folder holds the go language executables and should never have user built ones
What you’re describing should be your GOROOT
Andy Hampshire
@ayh20
if you do a: go env it lists the environment vars
what does it say for GOPATH
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
checking
Thanks, that helped
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
that JSON has the same code as from https://tibcosoftware.github.io/flogo/faas/how-to/
flogo create -f flogo.json myapp -> this command is throwing
Error creating project: open pkg/mod/github.com/project-flogo/corev0.9.4/examples/engine/main.go: no such file or directory
Fabián Castillo
@fcastill
@akpuvvada what version of golang are you using?
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
go version
go version go1.13.4 linux/amd64
Fabián Castillo
@fcastill
I’m wondering if this is an issue with go modules which are on by default in go 1.13, I had some issues recently where I had to turn them off
I had to set GO111MODULE=off and then install the cli
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
Where do I set that?
Fabián Castillo
@fcastill
set it as an environment variable
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
I did that. Set the env variable, reinstalled CLI and tried the create command again
Same error
export GO111MODULE=off || go get -u github.com/project-flogo/cli/... || rm -R /usr/tibco/flogo/go/myapp/ || flogo create -f flogo.json myapp
All commands executed in that order
Fabián Castillo
@fcastill
is it the same error pkg/mod/github.com/project-flogo/corev0.9.4/examples/engine/main.go: no such file or directory? If go modules are off it should be using $GOPATH/src and not $GOPATH/pkg/mod
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
Error creating project: open pkg/mod/github.com/project-flogo/corev0.9.4/examples/engine/main.go: no such file or directory
Let me start a new session and retry
Fabián Castillo
@fcastill
🤔 @skothari-tibco any ideas?
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
No, still same error
Samip Kothari
@skothari-tibco
What’s your GOPATH say ? @akpuvvada .
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
GOPATH="/home/tibroot/go"
Samip Kothari
@skothari-tibco
Are you by any chance creating the repo in gopath ?
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
Not sure, I am just following the steps. Still learning
Samip Kothari
@skothari-tibco
Are you working on a docker image ? And what exactly the platform is ?
A. K. Puvvada
@akpuvvada
I am trying on Unix server - CLI
icechunk
@icechunk_twitter
Is there a way to do some data translation? Like if fieldA value is 'xyz' then set fieldB to 'ABC'. The only way i can think of is a whole bunch of branches, because there is the only place where I can put a 'if' statement.
Samip Kothari
@skothari-tibco
You can use functions if branches is something of an overkill
icechunk
@icechunk_twitter
@skothari-tibco which function? Is there a "if-else" function available?
Samip Kothari
@skothari-tibco
There’s no “if-else" function but you can write one which should be super easy. https://github.com/project-flogo/contrib/tree/master/function .
icechunk
@icechunk_twitter
ok thanks. Though globalcache seems it will work for this case as well
balamg
@balamg
I think there is a ternary operator. Would that work?
icechunk
@icechunk_twitter
i have to do field value translations for 1 field. And its a key:value map of over 10 elements. This is a very common use case in any integration.
