Hi! Very interesting !

We can discuss it on thursday during the meeting or do you prefer a different slot ?

(I'll be there on thursday but maybe a bit late, my previous meeting ends precisely at 18:00 CET officially but might be a bit extended as there are many people involved)
Tobias Augspurger
@Ly0n
@bpetit For me Tuesday 2.2 at 18:00 or 19:00 would be possible. We can also say Thursday 4.2 19:00.

@Ly0n
I just send you an invitation to the mail address in your profile. @tjarkdoering will have a meeting at the 2/2 19:00 CET to experiment a little bit with your project, Github Action and the Reforestation API.

You have the an upvote from Fab City Hamburg as well. Up for a call on potential systematic collaboration between fab city and protontypes?

For instance, Fab City Hamburg will run an incubator program specifically for StartUps that base their business models on open source hardware/software. would be great to have conversation on that with you.

could you send me the link for the meeting ? I think the regular one already started and then there is the one about the reforestation project at 7pm ?
I'd like to come and say I in the first one as well if it's ok for you
Tobias Augspurger
@Ly0n
That's fine. See you later on.

Such a great and high quality open source project we forgot on OpenSustain.tech: https://farm.bot/
I wonder what else is missing.

@benedikt_seidel:fabcity.hamburg LibreSolar was actually already in there. But as: Charge Controller Firmware - Firmware for Libre Solar MPPT/PWM charge controllers.
I made an extra entry for the following repo with a better naming. Thanks for the hint!

@elaristi
@Ly0n @tjarkdoering Hey guys! are you available for a call this evening with the person from UNEP?
Tobias Augspurger
@Ly0n
Hey @elaristi, sorry I have just seen that message. Have you already had the conversation? I have some free time between 16:00 and 19:00 CET today.
Tjark Döring
@tjarkdoering
Hi @elaristi , it was the same for me. I would not have had time anyway. I visit this chat only on occasion. Email works better if you want to reach me in an pinch.

Hi @/all, our next meeting is on Thursday again: 2021-02-18 18:00 CET. We plan to do a little talking, followed by a little code review session. Cheers!

Hi all, I’m wondering if there are any existing open source innovation communities that discuss innovations for transportation? Thanks!
Tobias Augspurger
@Ly0n

@computerforgood Here are possible places to start:

A joint venture of several car manufacturers to mobility and also transportation. :
https://openmobility.eclipse.org/

One of the best-known planners in the field of sustainable transportation:
https://github.com/ropensci/stplanr

An open joint venture for the field of autonomous driving and also autonomous logistics. In the field of open source robotics, you can find a lot of open innovation for transportation.
https://www.autoware.org/

Very well developed is also the following project for bicycle delivery services:
https://github.com/coopcycle/coopcycle-web

In the area of logistics hubs and supply chains, I, unfortunately, don't know of any open solutions/standards, but I see very great potential here. Open software in the area of last-mile delivery could also enable much more efficient deliveries. Here is a post from me about this: https://discourse.ros.org/t/conclusions-about-ros-and-the-future-of-last-mile-delivery/16319

You should also take a look at the following list about the Transit API:
https://github.com/CUTR-at-USF/awesome-transit

@computerforgood
@Ly0n Thank you very much for the thorough list!

computerforgood
@computerforgood
Sorry to bother again. Are there any open source communities that collaborate to conduct feasibilty analyses? I am thinking like of multiple analyses, including economic and Life Cycle Analyses for transportation systems. I know this may be quite specific, but anything in that direction is a lead. Thanks!
Tobias Augspurger
@Ly0n

Take a look at OpenSustain.tech to see the organizations behind the open source projects. I don't know of a completely open and free open source community, but there are some institutes that rely heavily on open source. Here are a few examples:

https://www.cutr.usf.edu/
https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/about/jrc-in-brief
https://www.systra.com/en/

All organizations have successful open source software packages here:
https://opensustain.tech/#mobility-and-transportation

Here some more:

@computerforgood
Thank you, I will take a closer look at these!

Hi @/all, we had a good meeting today. We have now a working prototype for the planned continuous reforestation action! Our next meeting is on the coming wednesday: 2021-02-24 17:30 CET. You are welcome to join the discussion (and possibly code review)!

parapluplu
@parapluplu
Hey, I've read about your project some time ago in the newspaper.. :D Now I've a stupid question/idea:
Signal is an open source messenger gaining popularity. What I hear quite often is that people are missing the status functionality of whatsapp. Would LibreSelery be a "process" to reward someone who develops this functionality for signal? If so, how could that be done?
parapluplu
@parapluplu
I guess signal developers have to integrate LibreSelery into their repo? Or is there a way to fund existing open source projects from "outside"?
Tobias Augspurger
@Ly0n
@parapluplu Yes, you could use the LibreSelery Project on any open source project.
A kind of bounty would also be possible for the technical point of view
For that the Signal team would need to apply the project to the open source project's CI pipeline.
For the use case, you described other platform exist: https://issuehunt.io/
