Nico Hola Rodrigo!

@matrixbot
kilian The GIF count is rather high and it doesn't look like any of this is open, but I do like the idea behind it. https://medium.com/transit-app/how-we-shrank-our-trip-planner-till-it-didnt-need-data-84984ca56663

Mikolai Quite interesting indeed! Thanks for sharing!

@matrixbot
xamanu This might be interesting for somebody: Call for proposals for an Open Routing API pilot http://www.opengeospatial.org/pressroom/pressreleases/2963

@matrixbot
xamanu Hi, I invited Enock from Ghana and Johan from France. Both are working on OS public transport in African countries.
Enock Hello @everyone! Thanks Felix for the invitation

@matrixbot
johan Hello πŸ‘‹
matrixbot
@matrixbot
xamanu Welcome Enock and Johan.
Nico Hi!
matrixbot
@matrixbot
xamanu Just to give you some context, Enock and Johan were heavily involved into schildbach/public-transport-enabler#170

Mikolai Hi and welcome here!

Just to give you some context, Enock and Johan were heavily involved into schildbach/public-transport-enabler#170

Nice! Perhaps you could rebuild the Ghana GTFS as the current version served by Navitia expired already. Just in case you didn't notice πŸ™ƒ

Yes :) This should get Navitia up and running soon AFDLab4Dev/AccraMobility#4

matrixbot
@matrixbot
johan AFD'S github account is unmaintained, this is now the reference repo: https://git.digitaltransport4africa.org/places/accra
Enock johan: My bad! Thanks
Mikolai Nice you've already worked on this!
johan Mikolai: yes the GTFS was rebuilt by Enock
johan I'm talking over email with Noemie from Jungle Bus to see if Kisio can update it in Navitia
johan And maybe find a more long term solution for other GTFS additions and updates

Mikolai > And maybe find a more long term solution for other GTFS additions and updates

In the case of Nicaragua, Navitia is pulling the GTFS ery week automatically from our website.

johan Because right now we depend on Kisio's volunteer work and I'm not sure it will last or scale
johan Mikolai: oh nice, I didn't know that
matrixbot
@matrixbot
Mikolai Quite sure it shouldn't be a problem using a similar workflow for Ghana, too
johan What about Douala, Mali, and soon Abidjan, Bamako and others?
johan It will soon add up
johan We'll know soon what they think. I'll keep you posted.

Cool

@matrixbot
xamanu Yes, this is the F(eed) in GTFS. It should be the same for Accra, that they pull in. But I think they kick you out after a certain amount of time the GTFS ran out of validity. And of course the source uri should not change (not sure whether this happened)

Nico > <@johan:jailbreak.paris> Because right now we depend on Kisio's volunteer work and I'm not sure it will last or scale

In the beginnings of Nicaragua's GTFS, I've set up our own Navitia server and it worked quite well: https://github.com/mapanica/navitia-instance-mapanica

Nico Maybe you want to set up your own under digitaltransport4africa.org to be more independent.

pionen Hello from Nicaragua :)
