The GIF count is rather high and it doesn't look like any of this is open, but I do like the idea behind it. https://medium.com/transit-app/how-we-shrank-our-trip-planner-till-it-didnt-need-data-84984ca56663

Nice! Perhaps you could rebuild the Ghana GTFS as the current version served by Navitia expired already. Just in case you didn't notice π

Yes :) This should get Navitia up and running soon AFDLab4Dev/AccraMobility#4
johan
AFD'S github account is unmaintained, this is now the reference repo: https://git.digitaltransport4africa.org/places/accra
Enock
johan: My bad! Thanks
Mikolai
Nice you've already worked on this!
johan
Mikolai: yes the GTFS was rebuilt by Enock
johan
I'm talking over email with Noemie from Jungle Bus to see if Kisio can update it in Navitia
johan
And maybe find a more long term solution for other GTFS additions and updates
Mikolai

In the case of Nicaragua, Navitia is pulling the GTFS ery week automatically from our website.
johan
Because right now we depend on Kisio's volunteer work and I'm not sure it will last or scale
johan
Mikolai: oh nice, I didn't know that
johan
What about Douala, Mali, and soon Abidjan, Bamako and others?
johan
It will soon add up
johan
We'll know soon what they think. I'll keep you posted.

In the beginnings of Nicaragua's GTFS, I've set up our own Navitia server and it worked quite well: https://github.com/mapanica/navitia-instance-mapanica
Nico
Maybe you want to set up your own under digitaltransport4africa.org to be more independent.
