OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:12
Not sure to be honest.
First time I've used it :)
It's got a private chat feature too
but I'm not sure where this all lives..
who can see it, etc.
Might just be transient.
Quite handy though.

SO
I want to better format the wiki navigation
I'd like to make it just a few options for each main category
1. Exploitation
2. Presence
3. Persistance
4. Pivoting
5. Priviledge Escalation
6. Misc
I think most of the OS based stuff falls under 1-5
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:45
can haz 0dayz plz? debian plz. kthxbai.
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 03:45
I'd also like to break off the Metasploit wiki into its own thing
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:45
Just pushed the last couple of things that people were waiting on with extapi.. hopefully meatballs will merge it.
WebBreacher
@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 03:46
the issue is that each of those 1-5 pages will be SO LONG
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:46
subsections for sure.
does the wiki support mulitple sections? or would it be as simple as just having links to other pages from within those pages? coz breaking it up would be key.
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 03:47
No I think they will each got to an index.md for their specific sections
and that would give a table of content and better description
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:47
yeah
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 03:47
the Navigation only support 2 tiers
and it looks cleaner that way
I've also submitted for tab'ing
https://github.com/Dynalon/mdwiki/issues/41
^
WebBreacher
@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 03:49
i think we should not do example content
too complex and without it the formatting can just be a table
what we need is a real style guide
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:51
do you mean "example output" ?
WebBreacher
@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 03:52
yes
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:52
@WebBreacher if so, I think at this point the example output is just noise.
yeah cool.
agreed.
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 03:53
So in 0.5.8 they include the ability to "preview" and "include" files
we might want to try a bit with that
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 03:59
That might be a goer, but I don't see it being a reference/source for sample outputs, but more inputs.
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 04:01
true
What I do want is for people to know what to expect though
If I run "X" I should get "Y" if not, something else is probably wrong
WebBreacher
@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 04:02
hmm. i'm wondering if we are trying to run without understanding how to crawl.
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 04:02
I crawl just fine
;-)
WebBreacher
@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 04:03
we should make a style guide; and a framework for the content; add core cmds and the params and descriptions and then worry about the sample content.
bar crawls don't count
well..maybe they do
i feel like we are jumping into putting all this content on the site andhave all these people helping and we need the structure
is there some guide we can borrow from another project? metasploit? something else?
or tell me i'm fulla poop
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 04:07
lots of people saying we should make a style guid
guide
I have no idea on how to make one
WebBreacher
@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 04:08
i don't either
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 04:08
I don't even know what it includes
WebBreacher
@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 04:08
since all we are doing is populating content in a wiki, makes sense to do it the same way across contributors.
i think it is like a classification guide. tells you everything you should do. all you do is [insertcodehere]
wonder if we can ask @egypt or some other contributor for their experiences? twitter?
does @HackingDave have a style guide for SET?
I know @lanmaster53 doesn't for recon-ng. He has a dev guide but that is FAR from an "when you use the ``` put the ending ``` on a new line"
OJ Reeves
@OJ
Dec 06 2013 04:13
Style Guid -> 119bfb01-4c6f-44c0-922b-ff6fbb36734f your'e welcome :D

@WebBreacher
Dec 06 2013 04:23
k ppl. we made a lot of decisions here tonight: gitter is recording all this to sell to the Chinese; we need a style guidE; we don't know how to make a style guide; we need to simplify.
i'm going to sleep.
Rob Fuller
@mubix
Dec 06 2013 04:24
