Hi!
anyone here [and awake]? :)
we have not had meetups in a while
also, looks like there will be a regular Python seminar at the Univ of Latvia:
SpiegS
@SpiegS
Is it only for students?
What will be covered there?
Uldis Bojārs
@CaptSolo
"technically" for students, but i think everyone is welcome
guests are welcome, also to talk about their experience w. python
we could combine a seminar event with PythonLV meetups, too
seminars are more free-flowing than lectures - so what is covered can be adapted to what the people attending want to explore / do
Leo Seļavo, who is organizing the seminar, already included possible joint PythonLV meetups / visits in the list of things the seminar might include :)
Uldis Bojārs
@CaptSolo
it will be partially virtual - with communication over Slack and seminar's wiki
Leo Selavo
@elomage
The seminar is more about giving the basic intro to Python and various libraries/frameworks, to give the taste of the power and availability of Python to the students. However, advanced members are welcome to share the love and experience, by giving a guest lecture.
Uldis Bojārs
@CaptSolo
The Python seminar (1st meeting was today) was widely attended - with 20 people following introduction to Python
almost all were new to Python
Uldis Bojārs
@CaptSolo
here are today's "slides" (Jupyter notebook, really), presented by Valdis Saulespurēns
Uldis Bojārs
@CaptSolo
hi
anyone here?
a company is looking for help with a problem they're having with a Python-based application
let me know if anyone here can help look at it (or if you know someone who can)
Uldis Bojārs
@CaptSolo
čau!
vai ir te ar' kāds? :)
