might be worth showing how the qml method works, but what are the limitations
no sequences, not all items, bad image quality (not sure the one you have does better, didn't try it)
@Brethzel_gitlab I know we use the grabToImage function in many test qml documents.
I just closed all typos. Quite a few of them where already fixed, but I've walked through all of them.
@jryannel I've done a whole bunch of updates now, but I'm not sure about the travis build status.
to me, it looks broken
will the page auto-update, or do I have to do something?
Currently I would need to run the publish script. Ideally in the future we create release tags and auto publish latest tag
Travis is still broken
I think that we should do tags according to Qt releases, and then have a dev build which is the current bleeding edge
When we tag for a Qt release I would expect we update also all QML imports for the latest? And this tag would also mean that would be the Qt version we tested agains. Korrekt?
Hello everyone, i'm new to become c++ developer with qt and i want to know i qml book teach in how to develop app with c++
@xhimanshuz the qmlbook is about QML, even though there are some chapters on how to extend a QML application with C++. If you want to learn C++ and Qt, the qmlbook is the wrong resource.
@e8johan Thanks man you saved my life and time, is there any other resources where i can lean qt with c++ then i will be more appreciable.
I'm not sure what's available on-line (I'm sure there is something). I wrote the Foundations of Qt Development a few years back (available through APress).
Also, if you are learning both C++ and Qt, I recommend that you start with basic C++ first, then continue with Qt.
This will teach you about the language (C++) first, before you go into the details of the framework (Qt), since Qt uses C++ in a specific way.
@e8johan but i already know c++ now i want to learn c++, i need resources

Hi erveryone, I am studing QML and almost now I bumped into a small issue with the book assets in chapter 4. It is a small thing, the greenbox asset in the transformation segment and example is missing. In the download files there is a box_green@2x and 3x, not a simple boox_green with 64x64 pixels. Just to let you know. Thank you for this material, it is very helpful.
@silviogatisf Thanks for telling - I will create an issue.
Hi guys, do you have qmlbook as presentation somewhere?
@e8johan congrats on your sponsoring !
Thanks! It is great to be able to spend some time on this project again!
@jmlich nopes, there is no such version available.
Hello, how can i help with german translation?

Same for Arabic.
Is there a Yahoo Groups-style user community forum for QMLBook where questions can be posted in a bit more detail than makes sense on a pseudo-real-time chat room like this?
@amreisa thanks for reaching out. We're currently restructuring the CI/CD, so we have a plan for translations, but none in place.
We need to figure out how to support this before we make anyone spending time on it.
as for community forum - good idea - because this room is not really "monitored", as you might have noticed :-)
Thanks, @e8johan. I'm having one specific problem (so far) with the QMLBook tutorial. It'll take a relatively longer post to describe, perhaps not suitable for this chat room. Should I go ahead and post it here, or is there a better venue to post it?
One problem with posting it here is that every time I hit <ENTER> it posts what I've written, so not really suitable for posts that contain more than one paragraph.
Thanks, @e8johan. I have posted my first question in the Qt Forum "QML and QT Quick" sub-forum at https://forum.qt.io/category/12/qml-and-qt-quick. I will also send it to you directly. Please respond in whichever way is most convenient to you.
I have raised a ticket at github as suggested above. Hopefully I did it right.
Hi, when I reading this book, in chapter 16.5.2, declare a protected method virtual QHash<int, QByteArray> roleNames() const override; It's overide from QAbstractListModel, in there are declare as a public method, why do this change? and how QML call a protected method in C++ class.
what's the most active qt channel?
is this group dead ?
I would say it is pretty quiet here. I would recommend the Qt IRC channels and KDE forums for discussions around Qt
Hi. I have a question regarding Chapter 2 and the example with the CSV file. I tried to print the content of a CSV file with the code but it doesn't work and I just get an empty string displayed. Can the example maybe enhanced for this problem?
