QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <Sander> Cool. I'm surprised how good vim mode in jetbrains is. For as far as i can test.

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <Didje> hello, i use qownnotes for 2 month now in my work (i'm a developper) and i found it very usefull. i'm using the tags to identify my notes.
when i select 2 tags in the tag panel, i have all the notes which have tag1 or tag2.
i would like to search notes which have tag1 and tag2. is there a way to do this ?
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <patbek> thank you and no, sorry 😁 see: pbek/QOwnNotes#1702 (re @Didje: hello, i use qownnotes for 2 month now in my work (i'm a developper) and i found it very usefull. i'm using the tags to identify my notes.

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <patbek> more kate goodies from @waqar144 😁 :
Kate’s β€œQuick Open” panel now supports fuzzy matching (Waqar Ahmed, Kate 21.04)

@matrixbot
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> Haha. There's also a redesign of the quick open in the works, i think it looks much nicer ;p

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> You all should join in, I believe a lot of us are KDE lovers anyways. And KDE is basically just volunteers with very very few people who are paid to work on it.

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <Sander> Very true.
@patbek contributing to KDE is THE way to sneak QOwnNotes into being the de facto notes/knowledgebase app in KDE πŸ˜‰. Makes KDE more attractive and QON will get more eyes and helping hands (or just more issues...) You will definitely need to rebrand to KOwnNotes though 😝
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <Sander> Contrib to KDE is on my list - but I need to find time. Right now I try to disassmble and change the firmware for a Thinkpad external keyboard.
Assembly (and C++ btw) are areas in tech where I'm not so proficient. Yet πŸ€“

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> Qt c++ is easier fortunately than normal c++ so I think you will be good. πŸ˜‰ Asm is another story though lol (re @Sander: Contrib to KDE is on my list - but I need to find time. QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> We discussed it once, and I think KDE will probably accept us easily. They were already looking for more apps to join the kde circle. (re @Sander: Very true.

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <imabug> Even if it is not part of the kde project, qownnotes is still better note taking for plasma. It is very beautiful and very well integrated into the system, I love it all (re @Sander: Very true.

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <imabug> yes, Qt is very beautiful, especially in plasma.
I wonder what his future will be in opensource projects now that the LTS version will be paid (re @patbek: Of course, since it's using Qt and supports free desktop icons. 😁 (and the main devs are using KDE πŸ˜†))

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> Phew!
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> I guess we'll survive somehow. It's not that bad
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> And the code is still in the open.
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> The next version of kde has quite some surprises ;)
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <Soularion> interesting, is that the leading phone linux OS?
Also what do they mean by the last sentence in the first statement of their page:
"Pasma Mobile is an open-source user interface for phones. Running on top of a Linux distribution, Plasma Mobile turns your phone into a fully hacking device."
matrixbot
@matrixbot
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> It just means that you have a lot of options to customize your phone, just like a Linux distribution.
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> And no, I mean the plasma desktop. (re @Soularion: interesting, is that the leading phone linux OS?

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> Soon enough maybe we'll get a review of Plasma Phone from one esteemed member of this group πŸ˜‰
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> If you guys can hop in and maybe drop a suggestion etc, it would make a big difference:
https://invent.kde.org/utilities/kate/-/issues/20
matrixbot
@matrixbot
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <imabug> for the projects themselves it may not really cause so many problems, at least not for the existing ones. The biggest change really will be for distros.
But as always, this is something that will be resolved by the community itself (re @waqar144: And the code is still in the open.)
matrixbot
@matrixbot
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <Sander> I never use kate. I dont know why... πŸ€”.... QON πŸ‘€ haha
I used Sublime Text heavily back in the days. Does Kate e.g. have show whitespace only in selected text? I think I saw multicursors being written about but I never found it in the release. (re @waqar144: If you guys can hop in and maybe drop a suggestion etc, it would make a big difference:

matrixbot
@matrixbot
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> Multi cursors aren't there yet. ;p
It does show white spaces, but I don't think there's an option to just see them in selected text only.
And that's exactly why I created that issue, you can just go in and put your suggestion / idea.
Also,Kate is a general purpose editor, and QON is a specialized note taking tool. (re @Sander: I never use kate. I dont know why... πŸ€”.... QON πŸ‘€ haha

QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <Sander> > Also,Kate is a general purpose editor, and QON is a specialized note taking tool.
Very true - in my case I end up coding in vim or Jetbrains and notetaking (which was e.g. ST) now in QON.
I'll add some suggestions! :)
matrixbot
@matrixbot
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> Vim is a thing of its own, imo, the only editor which comes close to VScode in some ways.
QOwnNotes Bot [telegram] <waqar144> Kate is the only "native" gui foss editor that's more than just a notepad I think, so I want to keep it in competition and make it one of the best editors on the market, for Linux especially.

peter on Freenode is it possible to have multiple folders open by default?

pbek (@pbek:matrix.org) > <@freenode_peter:matrix.org> is it possible to have multiple folders open by default?

no, only one note folder can be active at the same time. but you can of course have sub-folders in them...

peter on Freenode ok, thanks for clarifying Patrizio, one more question, is there an explanation on how "Workspaces" is intended to be used?
pbek (@pbek:matrix.org) you can use different workspace for different panel layouts
pbek (@pbek:matrix.org) you can switch between the last two workspaces with a shortcut or you can switch them in scripts
matrixbot
@matrixbot
peter on Freenode oh ok, understood. thank you so much (other contributors too) for your dedication on this program
pbek (@pbek:matrix.org) thank you, have fun exploring it 😸
