James Draper
@draperjames
biology... it was gonna be computational biology but I was a few credits shy of the requirement and I did't wanna pay them anymore money.
Zeke
@zbarge
Ah dang yeah I bet tuition wasn't pretty
James Draper
@draperjames
not that that it would have made any difference getting a job. people seem to want you to do either bio or cs
lol college is such a pyramid scheme
Zeke
@zbarge
I believe it
Seems very inefficient too
James Draper
@draperjames
yeah. if I could do it over again I would have just stayed at my moms house and just programmed my nutz off until I got a job
I know a few people that did that and they program for banks and shit now
Zeke
@zbarge
haha sounds like a green track right there - no loans no bills, big employers lol
James Draper
@draperjames
yeah dude. my friend eddie had a collection of bmw's by the time he was my age
all I got is a 2006 honda element :cry:
Zeke
@zbarge
hahaha, maybe not the best way to spend your checks but I bet that felt nice lol
hey those are solid cars :D
I've got an 06 Toyota Corolla lol, little trooper
James Draper
@draperjames
lol yeah its hung in there
Zeke
@zbarge
but yeah - bummer how blindly we make decisions that are big - like school/career
James Draper
@draperjames
lol yeah if someone asks me for life advice idk what I would tell them
James Draper
@draperjames
We have a webpage now. It looks a little rough but I might fix it up a little bit later. I've been getting into making jekyll websites. If you haven't already you should check jekyll out. Its kinda the shit.
Zeke
@zbarge
nice dude alright ill check it out
Zeke
@zbarge
Hey how goes it? Check out this file when you get a chance...do you think its worth me pushing it over to qtpandas?
James Draper
@draperjames
Doing good. It looks good to me you wanna make a new fork and we can test it?
Zeke
@zbarge
sure or I can do a new branch
James Draper
@draperjames
word. I'll test it out on my end. I still haven't taken the time to get zeex installed on my machine. I need to install pyside file you sent me.
Zeke
@zbarge
np - im just now getting tests added anyways. Yeah just pip install path/to/pyside_file.whl
ive been changing so much on it we probably would merge conflict a lot if you changed any of the main code.
James Draper
@draperjames
ok I'll probably just abandon my branch and fork off the new parent
James Draper
@draperjames
Damn dude! zeex is stating to look legit!
Zeke
@zbarge
Thanks man :D im really proud of it so far
James Draper
@draperjames
you should make a gitter for zeex and me on it.
Zeke
@zbarge
OK sure
I think its done
James Draper
@draperjames
Hi @danayel I see you forked qtpandas. Did you get everything to work alright?
Matthias Ludwig
@kaotika
Hi there! This is Kaotika from datalyze solutions. I'am sorry for the late response, but we where busy with other projects. I'am happy that you wanne contribute to the project. Most likely I will not find the time to maintain the project, so if someone wants to do this.
James Draper
@draperjames
Oh snap! I know both of us would be down.
Zeke
@zbarge
Awesome news
Can you include me too @kaotika if you're adding contributors?
James Draper
@draperjames
@kaotika yes thank you! and if it wouldn't be too much trouble would you add us both as admin's on pip package? Thank you!
my user name on pip is draperjames btw
Matthias Ludwig
@kaotika
I added both of you to github and the pypi package. @zbarge: If your pypi name is not zbarge, pls tell me :D
Zeke
@zbarge
It is zbarge - thank you!
Are you still doing Data Science projects?
Nevermind - I looked at your website - cool - thanks again & take care.
James Draper
@draperjames
@kaotika thanks again!
Matthias Ludwig
@kaotika
I thank you too. Lets the project going on! :)
Zeke
@zbarge
450 pypi downloads...not too shabby dude
James Draper
@draperjames
:clap: not bad for month one.
Petras Jokubauskas
@sem-geologist
This looks promising, I however get into small trouble.
if I set the DataFrames index to be datetime (pandas type) column, it is not shown in the QTableView (the vertical header have integer numbers starting from 0), and some additional empty rows are placed (only visualy in TableView) in between the rows.
xlsloveyue
@xlsloveyue
When I use the view written by qtpandas to add rows and columns, I will get stuck, and then the program will be killed by the system. How to solve this problem
