r2cloud : Depends: r2cloud-jdk (>= 20201129115210) but 11.0.10-1 is to be installed
Looks like you swapped the version number without changing it in the dependencies?

Looks like you swapped the version number without changing it in the dependencies?

Is it causing any issue? It should transparently install new version

Lucas Stauder
@lucas_stauder:matrix.org
[m]
Yeah, it does not install at all
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
Hmm. let me check
Lucas Stauder
@lucas_stauder:matrix.org
[m]

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
r2cloud : Depends: r2cloud-jdk (>= 20201129115210) but 11.0.10-1 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

curl worked without problems
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
Right. Let's fix issues one by one. First, it looks like r2cloud-jdk affects only new clients. I'm going to update it in the r2cloud
Done, I scheduled new version with the new r2cloud-jdk version

curl worked without problems

It might be caused by internet issues. UnresolvedAddressException means DNS server is not available.

Lucas Stauder
@lucas_stauder:matrix.org

Yeah, okay maybe its my whirpool causing issues
Does it retry to upload stuff to r2server.ru?
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
On restart only
Lucas Stauder
@lucas_stauder:matrix.org
[m]
If I restart it will upload everything not yet uploaded?
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
Yep
There is a cleanup job that removes old observations. So r2cloud will upload everything that was not removed and not uploaded
Can you restart it now? There should be "resume uploading" and "resume decoding" entries
Lucas Stauder
@lucas_stauder:matrix.org
[m]
I'm 100km away from it, with no real chance to reboot by hand if it dies for some reason for two weeks
How long does it take until the r2cloud change takes effect?
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
Ok :)
If you configured auto-update, then it will update itself nightly
Lucas Stauder
@lucas_stauder:matrix.org

I mean if I try upgrading using apt it still throws the version error currently

I have installed r2cloud in tandem with YAAC (APRS Digipeater and ADS-B Decoder). ADS-B already uses a RTL-SDR dongle so I have installed and additional dongle for r2cloud, now I have 2. How do I configure r2cloud to use the correct dongle?
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
@JMedinac_twitter Currently it will take the first available. Try setting dongle 2 for ads-b. dongle 1 will be auto selected by r2cloud.

sdr-server is now much much stable. I added a guide on how to configure it:
https://github.com/dernasherbrezon/r2cloud/wiki/sdr-server

It will significally increase base station utilization for omni-directional antennas

dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
Added more satellites:
  • NANOSATC-BR1
  • KSU-CUBESAT
  • TSURU
  • TAUSAT-1
  • CUBEL

I've just installed sdr-server in my r2cloud raspberry pi but after checking status is always "Failed to start sdr-server service". Any help is apreciated

I don't find where the sdr-server config file is....
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
@ea5wa the config at /etc/sdr-server/config.conf. You can check the status via systemctl:
sudo systemctl status sdr-server
ea5wa Juan Carlos
@ea5wa

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo systemctl status sdr-server

After adding the line "satellites.sdr=sdrserver" in etc/sdr-server/config.conf, still doesn't work
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
@ea5wa you need to "satellites.sdr=sdrserver" to r2cloud config, not sdr-server config. This will switch SDR source to sdr-server. Default sdr-server config is more or less ok
ea5wa Juan Carlos
@ea5wa
Where is r2cloud config located?
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
@ea5wa check the guide https://github.com/dernasherbrezon/r2cloud/wiki/sdr-server the config is at ~/.r2cloud
ea5wa Juan Carlos
@ea5wa

@ea5wa It looks like something is not right with sdr-server config. Can you post the latest log?

sudo journalctl -u sdr-server -n 10

ea5wa Juan Carlos
@ea5wa
Unfortunately I've uninstalled sdr-server because r2cloud stopped to receive frames

Greetings! I saw this project mentioned in the defcon wireless village.. Im curious if @dernasherbrezon you are planning to bring this to hackrf or soapy?
dernasherbrezon
@dernasherbrezon
@CrankyLinuxUser_twitter why not? :) right now i’m focused on sdr-server and sdr-modem projects. They should improve both station utilization and performance. Feel free to raise jira on github
