Daniel
@DanL12186
did you ever try the includes after the joins?
Tom Cardoso
@tomcardoso
i did… let me try again
yeah:
Search.web_search('heather').joins(:searchable).includes(:searchable)
Traceback (most recent call last):
ActiveRecord::EagerLoadPolymorphicError (Cannot eagerly load the polymorphic association :searchable)
Tom Cardoso
@tomcardoso
Ah, I figured it out! Took a totally different approach that ended up working. Thanks @DanL12186

@Josebuendia
Which is better to use Rails with, Docker or a Virtual Machine?
Kiti-nomad
@kiti-nomad
Could not find gem 'sqlite3 (~> 1.4) x64-mingw32' in any of the gem sources listed in your Gemfile.
Run bundle install to install missing gems.
how to fix it
Fintan Moloney
@Josebuendia
What happened when you ran bundle install?
Is the gem in your gemfile?
Kiti-nomad
@kiti-nomad
i am newbee
Fintan Moloney
@Josebuendia
Well check your gemfile and run that command.
Kiti-nomad
@kiti-nomad

I don’t really understand the ecology of ruby
So many configurations are not understood
Fintan Moloney
@Josebuendia
Just get pass this road block first.

Hi
although i set config.cache_store = :file_store in development.rb nothing is added to tmp/cache folder
Eugeniu Tambur
@RTJ
hi, have you tried:
rails dev:cache
Joseph A.
@matedemorphy
yes
Development mode is now being cached.
i have = render @categories, cached: true in a view
= render 'shared/head_tags', cached: true in application.html.slim
Eugeniu Tambur
@RTJ
config.cache_store = :mem_cache_store
or
config.cache_store = :redis_cache_store
?
Joseph A.
@matedemorphy
= render 'shared/left_sidebar', cached: true
Eugeniu Tambur
@RTJ
you will need a redis or memcache server running
Joseph A.
@matedemorphy
nothing of that is being cached
@RTJ ok, but it there some cases in wich file_store wont work?
Eugeniu Tambur
@RTJ
I have never tried config.cache_store =: file_store,
But it should work
i use redis or memache normaly
config.action_controller.perform_caching is set to true ?
Joseph A.
@matedemorphy
yes

i'm a newbie, i have no doubt that install and configure Redis will cause me another problems like everything does until now, i would prefer going for the simplest way.
Eugeniu Tambur
@RTJ
For now everything seems to be fine

There are a lot of problems on Windows, I am going to give up
Daniel
@DanL12186
Ruby/Rails isn't fun to use on Windows
Linux/OS X is the way to go
Kaia Leahy
@tenebrousedge
I chose to set a Windows user up on Cloud9 rather than get them to go through all the things that would have been necessary for them to get Ruby running on WSL
and yes, I'm aware that you don't have to use WSL to use Ruby on Windows
Fintan Moloney
@Josebuendia

@tenebrousedge

Linux/OS X is the way to go

Best way to get going with Linux that if you've Windows already?
Kaia Leahy
@tenebrousedge
say again?
Fintan Moloney
@Josebuendia
@tenebrousedge Should I use Docker or VM Virtual Box and what version of Linux?
