R.propEq(‘read_at’, null) ….will that not work?
const isRead = obj => obj.read_at && obj.read_at.length > 0 …that worked better for me
along with const isNotRead = R.complement(isRead)
But are there better ways of checking for empty/null

R.propSatisfies(R.isNil, 'read_at')
or depending how your writing the code R.compose(R.isNil, R.prop('read_at'))
R.propOr([], 'read_at')
