As far as I could see, the documentation of contains does not describe this behaviour. The internal implementation of contains dispatches to indexOf, which is why the above works. Is this really intended behaviour or a terrible mistake?

@polytypic I think you are right the documentation is not correct in this area, it's a polymorphic function that makes the working right but contains :: a -> [a] -> Boolean isn't right here since 'is substring contains supported behaviour' isn't an array of a

@stud-mai Can you describe what's breaking with ifElse? The Upgrade guides don't suggest it changed.

@Bradcomp It ended up with poping exception " TypeError: Cannot read property 'call' of undefined " which was created in internal ramda function called _pipe. In my work project I did nothing but updated ramda package from version 0.23.0 to the latest one

@Bradcomp Same issue I experienced when I tried to update to version 0.24.0. But when I switched back to 0.23.0 everything worked well as it used to be

I don't know if ifElse is actually the root of your problem. It doesn't look like it has _pipe as a dependency.

I'll try to dig a bit deeper to find out what is going on there and let you know if you are interested in it
