one way to think about it is to realize that there is a monoid for endomorphisms in any category
so if you have a bunch of morphisms a ↝ a, you can always mash them together into one big endomorphism a ↝ a (whatever may happen to be; vanilla functions a -> b, kleisli arrows a -> m b, etc.)
if you don't have a bunch of morphisms a ↝ a, but instead have a bunch of xs, each of which you can map using a function x -> a ↝ a into an endomorphism, well that's just the same thing. you convert your container full of xs to endomorphisms, and then you mash all the endomorphisms together using the appropriate endomorphism monoid
