    @gilligan
    I also created gilligan/ramdaconf#8 to see if someone would be willing to create some kind of information webpage
    which would at this point only contain placeholder information ... ;)
    mostly anyway

    oh hi
    Tobias Pflug
    @gilligan
    ;)
    Jethro Larson
    @jethrolarson
    good momentum this week
    Should we start spitballing dates?
    David Chambers
    @davidchambers
    I think so. The first thing it to determine the best time of the week. For the sake of argument, let's say X o'clock on a Yday is best. We should then choose three consecutive Ydays at least two months from today and contact each of the presenters to find out which of the three Ydays are suitable. Hopefully at least one day is suitable for all the presenters.
    David Chambers
    @davidchambers

    I would possibly aim for starting at something like 10:00am @ GMT-8

    Assuming a weekday is better than a weekend, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the good days. 10am Thursday in San Francisco is 6pm Thursday in London, 7pm Thursday in Berlin, and 7am Friday in New Zealand.

    Tobias Pflug
    @gilligan
    Actually the next things I am planning is to create a waffle board, assign some tickets and also find people who want to act as organizers
    so far it was nice to kick ideas about but some people need to be dedicated to organise stuff
    David Chambers
    @davidchambers
    That's true.
    Tobias Pflug
    @gilligan
    As for the day I assume it would have to be a Saturday
    I can't expect people to have time for this during a workday
    I emailed the guy who runs those remote conferences as was mentioned on the github issue tracker to get some insight/suggestions but have not heard back yet
    David Chambers
    @davidchambers
    10am Saturday in San Francisco sounds good to me. That's Saturday evening in Europe and Sunday morning in New Zealand.
    Tobias Pflug
    @gilligan
    i'll try to do some updates on the issue tracker to move things in the direction of being organised by a specific group of people
    most obvious TODOs are 1) who are the organisers 2) how to stream / what is needed 3) how to interact with the audience (irc/slack?) 4) who are the presenters 5) when is the event taking place 6) anyone else interested in hosting a "viewing event" in an office space 7) getting a website up with relevant info 8) spread the word some more
    but I am sick as a dog today so I don't know if I will manage to do much today
    Jethro Larson
    @jethrolarson
    10am on Saturday would likely work for me, depended on what weekend
    I can probably organize a viewing in the KOMO TV Seattle building
    Michael Hurley
    @buzzdecafe
    10AM PST sounds good to me too. that's 1PM for us east-coasters
    Scott Sauyet
    @CrossEye
    Sounds good to me too. Maybe I can find a room to share. My work would probably not be a good place, but I have another possible alternative.
    Jethro Larson
    @jethrolarson
    Bump
    Tobias Pflug
    @gilligan
    Bump indeed
    I need say 2 people that want to act as organizers or this won't fly ;)
    Someone needs to be responsible or this won't happen. Can't pull this off as a one man show
    Volunteers? Let me know then this can somehow gi forward
    Michael Hurley
    @buzzdecafe
    i guess that settles that then
    Hardy Jones
    @joneshf
    :(
    Michael Hurley
    @buzzdecafe
    i agree with you @joneshf -- i wonder if we can get this ball rolling again. unfortunately i think many of us are very busy
    Brad Compton (he/him)
    @Bradcomp
    I'll confess that I would really like to see this happen, but I too am very busy and I don't think I could be an organizer at this point.
    Tobias Pflug
    @gilligan
    ;(
    I feel kinda lame about starting this without it going anywhere
    But yeah well.. Real life is what is happening
    Michael Hurley
    @buzzdecafe
    no worries @gilligan we are no worse off than we were, and there's still hope that our schedules could clear and we could make some progress.

    You probably want to ask this in the ramda/ramda list. This one is for a potential conference on Ramda and related technoloogies.
