that’d be errors downloading and installing a package from npm.. ie, a 404 error means the same thing it does anywhere else… a dependency is not downloading because it can’t be found. however, I’m not see that nor is anyone else reporting, so I’d say .. retry..
things you can try though: npm cache clean && npm rebuild can help..
also npm set registry https://registry.npmjs.org/ (in the off case that you’re using some registry mirror that doesn’t have the module)

same issue persists after cache clean and registry is same. I m stuck.
    any other way out ?

maybe try just running npm i -g @segment/loosely-validate-event
    (works for me)
(and of course, make sure your npm/node/etc is up to date)
    npm i -g n
    n stable

What's up everybody, hope you are having a great evening! I'm not sure this is the right place, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm having a slight issue with making my own Reaction image for Docker. Basically I can't find where any of the source files are included during a Docker build - stuff like plugins, themes & settings - and nowhere do they appear to be found (not in Dockerfile, not in docker-compose.yml). How do I ensure the right files, which I would have customized, get included when I build my Docker image?
I have looked in both reactioncommerce/reaction and reactioncommerce/base repositories with little to no luck - nothing in the first and in the second, it was too scraped and no trace of where to put plugins
And of course nothing in the docs so that 's why I'm asking here :D

Pretty much everything in your local Reaction development directory should end up in the container. If it runs locally, it should be in the image.

Ah, lovely! That makes perfect sense. Thank you for pointing that out :) That solves going into production. Now my challenge lies in not being able to run meteor on windows, which sort of leaves me leaning towards setting up a Docker container like your meteor-launchpad for local development..

Hi all! I'm in a huge pinch here. Been STRUGGLING the last week to get some kind of reaction development environment up and running on my windows machine, to no avail. Short of going back to my ubuntu VM, I have come back to just trying 'reaction init' in command prompt, but there I get git clone errrors like npm ERR! git clone C:\Users\Dell\AppData\Local\.meteor\packages\meteor-tool\1.5.2\mt-os.windows.x86_32\dev_bundle\.npm\_git-remotes\git-github-com-reactioncommerce-transliteration-git-5ec7c7d9 C:\Users\Dell\AppData\Local\Temp\npm-3340-8f64cbd8\git-cache-fccc9af1\699d48cc8dd9a64f1a2773e1b36b6faa4bbdca2f: Cloning into 'C:\Users\Dell\AppData\Local\Temp\npm-3340-8f64cbd8\git-cache-fccc9af1\699d48cc8dd9a64f1a2773e1b36b6faa4bbdca2f'...
What on EARTH is wrong here? I must admit I was excited to get developing with Reaction, but with nothing but issues and a hastily approaching deadline for a startup I'm part of, this is slowly turning into fear and regret. Can somebody please help me get running?

Hi guys, I need some help. Is there a detailed guide to customize various pages?

e.g. I need to build a site something like the following:-
    a) Home page without the product grid that appears today. I need it to display a banner, some featured products, some info on "why customers should select this service", perhaps a video and some customer testimonials
    b) A product grid/list page with a bunch of products displayed
    c) If user selects a product, they'll be shown a list of default options (20) that they can customize. These will be arranged in tabs for easier navigation. There will also be some testimonials and other ways of reassuring the customer.
    d) User selects "Next" and user will be asked to input or upload upto 20 different images/text.
    e) These 20 different items get stored in the user's profile that they can then modify later.
    e) Customer hits "Submit order" and customer gets notified via email/text of order submission, order shipment, order delivery etc.

I've been through the customization guide and it appears very high-level :- https://docs.reactioncommerce.com/reaction-docs/master/creating-a-theme . I think I need something more detailed/step-by-step.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could point me to reading resources or videos or courses that will help me build this step-by-step. It could be as simple as "for a & b, read X and for c read Y etc."

    Thanks,
    J

Hi @juguar - Thanks for your questions. Please post them in the general #reaction channel.
We're going to be archiving this Launchdock channel and all questions should go into Reaction instead.
    Thanks!
