I would like to make an e-commerce for noobs best practices doc for reaction commerce. Since I am a noob I will be doing it alongside the store I am putting up, and I will be including the business insights I get from the tech and the tech insights I get from the business. I don’t expect that this will be a qick project though I will try to get a framework out quickly. Instead, I’m hoping that I can produce a comprehensive guide that includes lots of advice from others in the reaction community. So, to start things off what do people think of this idea?

Great idea! The more documentation and help we have, especially from different perspectives, the better.

Its a great idea, I was also thinking of writing a blog about Reaction. But it was not going to be a very comprehensive one.
Maybe we could have a wiki somewhere with the best practices and the packages.

What I would like for it to be is a way for users to get up and running in a timely fashion, and also a reference as they develop their buisness. I think that there’s a large and underappreciated learning curve to doing things online instead of bricks & mortar.

I like the wiki idea. Do ou knwo what wikiware is best for collaborative editing?

Not sure about wiki software, but there’s always google docs to get you started

true— asked because I have need of such a thing for this and other endeavors.
I think… that there is one. I have to just fidn the name— xwiki has some support but very so-so.
The ideal I think for both use cases would be something that allows logged in users with privs to edit together and for their work to be seen by users as it happens, by default.

maybe etherpad will work? http://etherpad.org/

:)— trouble with it is that it does not have the realtime presentation quite right yet. I’ve pretty thoroughly gone through the landscape of what exists…. 1 sec I will send the name of the one that may have it...
tiddlywiki, maybe
also going to havea look at jswiki. I’ll put it in my freaking huge list of cool open source apps… :).
oops
jswiki is a wiki
not wikiware

bebraw/jswiki
JavaScript wiki. Focuses mainly on JS/HTML5/WebGL related tech.

I was like… sounds perfect!

I like hacked, although…. have a look at their github issues hackpad/hackpad ;)
*hackpad
silly autocorrect. I think I am going to have a go at putting tiddlywiki up on klouds’ rancher hosting thingey this evening.

@faddat Rancher does look really cool. Have you deployed Reaction successfully with it yet? Interested in your learnings.

generally speaking if anyone else here wants to play with our rancher net, just drop a line. (we should all thank MSFT’s BizSpark ;) )

and truly, feel free to run whatever docker-packaged apps you’d like, just with the caveat that it may all blow up one day
also on a more reaction related topic—
I have never been able to add users to reaction— is that a known problem or, am I doing somethign wrong or…?
when I click “send invite” — nothing happens but don’t get an error message or anything— just— nothing.

I remember having issues with that when I first started. Have you setup your outgoing mail settings?
and do you get anything in the server logs?

Interesting. Not sure what that's about then.
FYI I'm getting stuck in a redirect loop on rancher after authorizing my github account
