@cooloney currently don't have wishlist support, but if you add a ticket, we or someone in the community will take a stab at it ;)

@joeynenni @cooloney open beta - the code will be in the repo. There are two parts coming - a PaaS solution for launching clusters of dockerized reaction shops (similar to Meteor Galaxy, but a custom solution that we're developing that supports custom ssl certs, domain names,etc) , and the first beta release. Beta means- we're aiming for a stable code base, mostly updated for ES6, where the methods, structure, codebase is a solid foundation for building on, but still feature incomplete. Essential order workflow is working, and stable. UI structure pretty solid. Last weeks Meteor 1.2 release is slowing this down just a touch, it might be another couple days (although you'll see a branch soon, it just might need a few more days of tweaking before publishing, and tagging). We will start pushing out pieces tomorrow though, stay tuned.

Hi all, just starting to take a look at reaction for a possible e-commerce project
Can someone recommend a place to start?

  1. Pull down dev branch of reactioncommerce/reaction
  2. run bin/clone-packages.sh

Thanks @spencern !
is it ok to ask a couple of questions here about features available now and in future?

This is the place, there are core-devs here pretty frequently and almost always community members hanging out.
That being said, you can see a bit of the now and later features here: https://reactioncommerce.com/features

Awesome! I am just evaluating a few options... we are currently shopify merchants (for a few years) but for this new project I would like to try and use something else... we have looked at magento but our first initial thoughts are it looks are it looks quite painful...

@Nexus7 It's always ok to ask questions, add tickets for bugs, feature requests, discussions about features.

But we are learning meteor and I help run the meteor Singapore group here so I would love to use meteor and an open source framework
Thanks @mikemurray
is reaction already in 'production' use by any merchants? if not, do we know how far away that is?

@Nexus7 not been tracking that, so really not sure. However, we plan on getting a few showcase shops live (as in real production) during the beta.

@aaronjudd : That's great
I guess the main features we are looking for are 'multi-language' (very important in Asia) and ability to customize the 'payment model'... we are looking at something between a 'group buying feature' and 'subscription based' purchasing....
@aaronjudd : I can see that you have something in gh about the subscription model with the vision label: reactioncommerce/reaction#330

there are a couple community members in here who have already built custom payment packages, not too tough, and now should be pretty easy (all depending on your needs, of course). - I think we’ve got the architecture down where building that should go pretty smoothly. we’re supporting RTL and “multi-language” (although not at the multiple languages on the same page/ same time). some refinement needed still, but it works.

@aaronjudd : nice
I'll hopefully get a chance to have my first play with reaction over the next few days and may come back with more questions ;-)

Hi, could you help me out on how to personalize the footer for the RC, I wanter to add some additional links and sections but I couldn't find where are you loading the current links from?

IN Appliaction \client\templates\layout\footer folder footer.html got 2 section one for static links and other for social links (if enabled)
& in footer.js it overrides Template.footer.replaces("layoutFooter");
which is core template

I found the footer.html but what I couldn't figure out is where are they loading the static links from? Where are the static links defined?
hrath2015

In routing.js var staticPages;
staticPages = ["about", "team", "faqs", "terms", "privacy"];
in App folder
in Router.map(function()
blob

the staticPages only exists in the main folder's routing not in the RC common/routters.js so I can't edit that file
Are you using the development branch?
hrath2015
@hrath2015
Sep 29 2015 10:04
yes
Bogi
@boboci9
Sep 29 2015 10:05
and you have the staticPages defined in your development branch?

Yes As as u can see in the screen capture in Reaction App.
Bogi
@boboci9
Sep 29 2015 10:08
Yes that is in the main folder not in the RC package, I was wondering if I can change the footer from the RC package, but I guess I will redefined a new staticPages in the package and try that

I think this functionality should be outside the core for others to customize
Bogi
@boboci9
Sep 29 2015 10:10
yes I was wondering if there is a place like that outside the core but I will make some tests to customize it myself
thanks for your help

Hi, just an other quick question, is there any way I could add the RC dependency to the theme package? I was trying to use the ReactionCore.registerPackage to define some registry entries specific only to this theme, is there any way to do that?

@boboci9 we should move the footer/static page templates out of reaction. But we also want to provide a way to edit them from within the app via a CMS or something; however, it would be simple enough to just move the templates out of reaction into a reaction-static package that developers could override.

hello, I created a json file to provide stripe api_key to reaction-stripe package as private/settings/reaction.json
[
  {
    "name": "reaction-stripe",
    "settings":{
      "mode": false,
      "api_key": "sk_test_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
    }
  }
]
But I got WARN message like this WARN core: Load Settings is not an array. Failed to load settings.
