hi all, was wondering if we have a slack channel? i can't search in this chat channel
was interested in when the update for meteor 1.3 support would happen :)

Hi @wytanj Support for 1.3 is coming in our v0.13 release which should be coming out either this week or the next at the latest. We are just in the process of closing up a few bugs
Note this will be a “compatability” release in that it will run on 1.3, but in an upcoming release we will be moving to a real module-based application layout
also, you used to be able to search in the gitter room, but all of a sudden I can’t find it either
Ah, there it is, far left at the top

yeah! i was wondering if this is a rude question, but i gotta say that since meteor moved to npm and es2015 support, this project has gotten me looking away from Spree for abit. I can't wait for the next full module-based app update
so i was wondering when that would happen :D

check the module-structure branch to see the progress
It’s a big undertaking and we didn’t want to h/u 1.3 compatability

Honestly we are just starting to see sites roll out RC in production, there is this one that just launched a new frontend (they have been running RC in the backend for a while)

Hello! Thank you for the RC, it looks promising. And i actually thinking to use it now for one of my customers. But i have few concerns. How SEO friendly it is? And because it is still under construction, will there be core changes to the platform? Thank you!

Hello @krestt You can use the spiderable package to render an SEO-friendly version of the site to crawlers
In terms of core changes, we do our best to keep the basic API consistent. However we are in the process of a major rewrite to adopt the recent meteor changes to use Modules
Depending on what you need to do, this may or may not be relevant
This is more about mostly just moving files around to use the more standard ES6 import/export syntax

There are some functionalities, that i don't see in RC yet. So i might write them by my self. For example, featured products. Where ill have to modify the product collection schema.

Have you checked out the Customization Guide?
It’s unlikely things like Schemas will undergo any major changes

Oh... didn't seen that Guide. Ill check it now. Thank you for response!

Is this chat is the right place to ask help for some technical issues? If not. Is there some kind of forum?
Brent Hoover

Sure, you can ask here. If it’s a long question then there’s http://discourse.reactioncommerce.com/
Sometimes longer conversations can get lost in a chat thread

:P yeah... But it have a potential. I think it worth it.
Just few things missing, for me at least. 1) Sub categories. 2) featured products. 3) relative products.

@krestt re: featured products… what did you have in mind? (and see drag and drop merchandising + layouts…)

@aaronjudd Well, for example, in the home page i would like to show only some "selected" products, not all of them. Its a pretty common functionality. I think its also called Suggested Products.

@krestt tags are the answer… you can filter the products with tags, but still need to build out a UI manage tagging organization on landing pages

@aaronjudd Can you tell if the route cart/completed nowadays only shows a specific order? If I remember correctly, in former times all orders where shown there (not only the last one). Can you confirm this?
