@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 03:14
bit it take very long time
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 03:14
The first time it runs it needs to download all the dependencies which may take a while, especially if you are not on a great network connection or not in North America

Brent Hoover

i have set external mongo_url but i dont see some collection which is created in mongo db
mongodb://localhost:27017/reaction
this is mongo_url
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 07:28
I’m sorry, what is your question?
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:28
i know how to save data in mongodb
in my mongodb
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 07:29
If you set the mongo_url correct, Meteor will create the collections there. Is Reaction running?
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:29
mongodb://localhost:27017/
this is a mongo_url
Himanshu Aggarwal
@haggarwal90
Jun 17 2016 07:30
i also faced similar issue, if we set mongo_url in setting.json and then do ./reaction reset but still meteor db will create at port 3001 (port +1)
i didnt find any solution yet
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 07:31
if it’s falling back to the local copy of Mongo than the URL is not configured correctly. This isn’t Reaction functionality it is Meteor
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:32
i have edited in METEOR-PORT file in E:\Reaction.meteor\local\db
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 07:32
@jngdal1 Since you aren’t running the reaction command you will probably need to specify —settings at the command line
Yeah, that’s not how that works
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:33
meteor --settings settings/settings.jo
json
i have customize default admin user
so i think reaction have read my settingfile

EMAIL/LOGIN: nodejs@gmail.com

PASSWORD: nodejs

this is information from console
"MONGO_URL": "mongodb://localhost:27017/reaction",
"MAIL_URL": "",
"reaction": {
"REACTION_USER": "nodejs",
"REACTION_AUTH": "nodejs",
"REACTION_EMAIL": "nodejs@gmail.com"
},
and this is config file
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 07:39
well, looking at it, it looks correct
could you try leaving the db name off?
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:42
change db name (reaction) ?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 07:42
"MONGO_URL": "mongodb://localhost:27017/“,
So there is nothing Reaction-specific about this, this is just a Meteor config. Maybe there is something Windows-specific about it
You could also try exporting environment variables
Also, as an experiment try running meteor —port 4000 and see if it runs on port 4000
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:47
i will do Now i am executing meteor reset
as you mention , reaction work in linux better than window
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 17 2016 07:51
I don’t know if it works better, but it’s easier for me to support you if I am familiar with the OS
Just everybody need to upgrade to Win10 and get that Ubuntu bash prompt. ;)
I have to go pick up my kids from school. I can try to help you later when I am back
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:53
you can tell me the db name which reaction create in mongo db
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 07:59
i think this err is caused meteor priority use local db with meteor port 3001 , so it can't connect to other mongo instance
Himanshu Aggarwal
@haggarwal90
Jun 17 2016 08:01
u can change running port also
./reaction -p <port>
but still it will not help to point mongodb at 27107
jngdal1
@jngdal1
Jun 17 2016 08:17
