soyJsus
@soyJSus
Sep 20 2016 20:01
@jshimko my I happened to me, I have it installed and running for another project and uninstall mongodb and working
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 20:02
@soyJSus as long as you don’t run more than one mongo instance on a given port, you can run as many mongo processes as you want. Since Meteor runs that instance on port 3001 by default, it is unlikely another instance running on 27017 caused your conflict.
@umuttuncer you can run the following to see filter out mongo processes:
ps | grep mongo

i killed the mongod and try to run reaction again
again killed
by the way i didnt install mongo i just created new droplet from digitalocean

I'm new idea, just I tell what happened to me, @jshimko because it gives me this error in heroku, the screen goes blank me, creates all tables in the database, BlazeLayout warning: unknown template "coreLayout"
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 20:06

for example, on my machine right now…

$ ps | grep mongo

 9961 ttys001    0:43.91 /Users/Jeremy/.meteor/packages/meteor-tool/.1.4.1_1.1h0re2h++os.osx.x86_64+web.browser+web.cordova/mt-os.osx.x86_64/dev_bundle/mongodb/bin/mongod --bind_ip 127.0.0.1 --port 3001 --dbpath /Users/Jeremy/code/temp/email/.meteor/local/db --oplogSize 8 --replSet meteor --nojournal

11653 ttys002    0:00.00 grep mongo

The process ID of my mongo instance in this case is the 9961 on that first line. If that got stuck, I would kill that by running:

kill 9961
Spencer Norman

Sep 20 2016 20:07
do you have a local machine you are developing on or just the digital ocean droplet? Also what size is your droplet?
umuttuncer
@umuttuncer
Sep 20 2016 20:07
i killed the process and try it
smallest size
maybe that is the problem?
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 20:08
smallest size droplet is not enough memory.
umuttuncer
@umuttuncer
Sep 20 2016 20:08
is there any requierment for reaction
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 20:08
you need at least the 1gb size
umuttuncer
@umuttuncer
Sep 20 2016 20:08
ok i will try that
i will give information about that
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 20:09
but if you’re just testing Reaction or doing development work, it may be easier to run it locally.

Hello
I am having some issues migrating data to a newer version of reactioncommerce
I tried first by pointing the newer version to the existing mongodb, and it behaves strange, e.g. most of the products cannot be edited (clicking the edit button does not do anything)
I have followed the suggestion of @zenweasel (thanks) to import using the private/data
now I can see import errors like: reaction-prequel-test1_1 | 19:37:28.920Z WARN Reaction: Error while importing to Products: After applying the update to the document {_id: "aEv7xNQfCbiRsZiHB" , ...}, the (immutable) field '_id' was found to have been altered to _id: "tMw254a6BaWN6jo6n"
reaction-prequel-test1_1 | 19:37:28.920Z WARN Reaction: Error while importing to Products: After applying the update to the document {_id: "aEv7xNQfCbiRsZiHB" , ...}, the (immutable) field '_id' was found to have been altered to _id: "tMw254a6BaWN6jo6n"
(of course, I am importing in a clean DB - brand new mongodb container)

@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 20:44
has anyone seen this before?
umuttuncer
@umuttuncer
Sep 20 2016 21:07
@jshimko it fails with reaction but runs with meteor command
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 21:09
the reaction is only running this by default: meteor --settings settings/dev.settings.json
after it generates the plugin imports files
which is required
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 21:16
You can just delete the sample product that’s trying to import.
(need that i18n folder though)
umuttuncer
@umuttuncer
Sep 20 2016 21:17
btw after the meteor command reaction command is working now

I have switched from the mongo:latest to mongo:3.0 , still same issue
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:17
@EpifaniaCollection have you tried removing the sample data json file?
also FYI, your issue prompted this issue to be filed…

Sep 20 2016 22:18
I replace it
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:19
you replace it with what? your own default products?
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:19
I put Product.json, etc in the private/data
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:19
do you have unique id’s?

Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:22
I have to step away for a bit. I’ll be back a little later and will test with your data.
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:22
in the meanwhile I have added additional products, and the amount of warnings more than doubled, which makes be think it's not related to the sample data, which has only few entries
np
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:23
Well, it appears to be unique to you at this point and the issue happens on import, so I suspect it’s at least related. But I’ll see what I can dig up when I get back.
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:27
grep _id Products.json | wc -l
155
grep _id Products.json | sort | uniq | wc -l
155
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:27
nicely done
yeah, I just confirmed the same
I replaced the products.json with yours in a fresh clone and the app won’t even finish building. Something’s up...
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:29
yes
just wrting :)
the products I gave you will fail at some point due to another strange issue. I fixed that in a newer json which I can upload.
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:29
no JSON errors in the file though
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:29
still, that does not seem to be related
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:30
ok, stepping away for real now. back later. :)
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:30
all done via the GUI, no manipulations in jsons
np
I will upload the newer products which allow you to start the app
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:31
ok
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Sep 20 2016 22:41
I have seen this error before when trying to create test stores, etc.
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:42
It might be very strange to be true, but could it be in the situations when we have options with the same name in different products?
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
Sep 20 2016 22:42
My assumption is that the import stuff isn’t checking enough things before moving forward with an import operation. The _id is really the only required unique field though.
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Sep 20 2016 22:43
Import doesn’t seem to check against the schema. But if you are exporting data, one would assume that it matches the schema
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Sep 20 2016 22:44
and if you importing Shops/Tags/Products then you should have integrity between keys (e.g. shopId on product)
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 22:46
with this ones import should finish. Only the warnings in discussions are left.
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Sep 20 2016 22:47
you probably don’t want to import/export inventory
Epifania Collection - christian orthodox priest vestments and church items
@EpifaniaCollection
Sep 20 2016 23:36
I am done for the day. I will continue investigation from my side and update if I find some more details.
I am not sure if those warnings should worry us or not. Thanks for all the great help up to now!
