@samgitre Sounds great, it's rough and messy but should help. I'm trying to clean up as I go and @zenweasel has been super helpful along with the rest of the team.

yeah, when you did reaction update it changed those files
I would just do git reset HEAD —hard
Donovan Adams - Hydrotik
@hydrotik
Oct 23 2016 00:36
Is there ever a valid reason to use reaction update with reaction pull? would it come after? Seems reaction pull would also include the effects of reaction update
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 00:37
yeah, I think you would do reaction update once you had already pulled
basically reaction update is meteor update
Donovan Adams - Hydrotik
@hydrotik
Oct 23 2016 00:38
got it
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 00:38
but if Meteor dropped a new version today, maybe you would want to try that rather than waiting for the next release
pretty good chance that will happen actually
Donovan Adams - Hydrotik
@hydrotik
Oct 23 2016 00:39
makes sense, would there be a chance that the newer version of meteor conflicts with the current reaction pull though?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 00:40
it’s possible, but fairly unlikely. And then you could just get reset and be back to where you were
the way Meteor handles it’s own dependencies is great like that

great thanks. I'm going to look at the static about us page again a little later. Not sure if you had a chance to take a peek?

I forgot about the reaction/ thing. is there any way to get rid of that in the path?

Donovan Adams - Hydrotik
@hydrotik
Oct 23 2016 03:51
ah thought I did, I can check the DB for that?

actually I didn’t copy your public files over
I must be psychic
=> A patch (Meteor 1.4.1.3) for your current release is available!
Donovan Adams - Hydrotik
@hydrotik
Oct 23 2016 03:54
intersting, I removed it from the db in heroku and when I go to /about it says I don't have permission to access
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 03:56
did you add the permissions to the groups and users?
Donovan Adams - Hydrotik
@hydrotik
Oct 23 2016 03:57
no, thought that might be done in server/init.js ?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 03:58
yeah, it gets added to the defaults there
but that will only apply to newly created users
Donovan Adams - Hydrotik
@hydrotik
Oct 23 2016 03:58
ah ok, I'll have to take a look tomorrow
thanks Brent! progress:)

Hi
samgitre
@samgitre
Oct 23 2016 10:40
Please , I created my customized plugin in the --imports -- plugins -- custom of the reaction project root directory but I can't see it when I open the the project in the Atom IDE but I can see the folder in file explorer, Please can any one help on how to make it visible in my IDE? Thanks.
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 11:58
Possibly you need to allow your IDE to see files that are git ignored. That directory is ignored so that you can develop there without conflicting with the main project
samgitre
@samgitre
Oct 23 2016 12:23
The problem here is that I can not find any git ignore file within the project root
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 12:24
it’s there
samgitre
@samgitre
Oct 23 2016 12:28
Oh, thanks, let me check it out
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 12:36
I don’t normally use Atom but I opened it there and I still see the plug-in there, though it’s greyed-out
samgitre
@samgitre
Oct 23 2016 12:41
I can't see it at all in mine
I only see it if I view in file explorer
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Oct 23 2016 12:45
Did you see this? atom/atom#3429
Apparently there is a setting for showing VCS ignored files
samgitre
@samgitre
Oct 23 2016 12:47
Yes, bro
it has appeared, now I can see it
Thanks, man
