How powerful is the machine you’re developing on? For me (2.4ghz i7, 16gb ram, OS X) updates take between 10-20s depending on whether they are server or client updates? 3-4 minutes seems pretty extreme, and even 1 minute seems way too long. @ababba15

And I also have huge CPU usage, the cooler is spinning like crazy. That's not happening on other meteor projects. Is there any way to reduce it?

I get high CPU usage to the point where it timeouts in certain cases as well @ababba15 But that's usually because I've installed meteor packages that don't act well with reaction. Did you install anything else?
