@flaviohenriquecbc a really nice post ....covers alot of basic things that get taken for granted.

Hey guys is there a way to demo the dashboard? I've tried installing it locally but it's breaking on mongodb
also i'm using Laravel Valet, is that supported?

When you say “breaking on mongoldb” what do you mean?
We don’t have a public instance available where you can get to the dashboard
Everyone just runs it locally
RC is in Javascript not PHP so we wouldn’t support Laravel

hmm i don't love the dashboard
Is reaction supposed to be a Shopify alternative or more of a Magento alternative?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
May 09 2017 09:20
I would say more along the Magento line. It’s a developer-focused product, not a self-service shop-owner focused project

hello.
I have deployed reaction onto AWS with 2GB ram. And I'm experiencing delay on initial load in 2-3 seconds before site is displayed. Is it expected behavior or there are any issues which may be fixed?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
May 09 2017 12:17
Yeah, the first load can be a little bit long

@tarzak
May 09 2017 12:48
@zenweasel thanks. Is there any way to decrease this delay? Or may be could you specify what does invoke it?

Hi guys! Trying to extend the ProductVariant schema but I don't think my attachSchema is actually taken into account. Whenever I update a product variant, I get a Match error on inventory/adjust
However, I followed the instructions and imported my Schemas both on server and client
Wondering if any of you knows about that, and what would be common mistakes to look at first. Been stuck on this one for a few days so I could really use some help 🙏🏻

So starting to customize my store a bit deeper. I've been looking for a "Locales" preference where I can specify which languages and currency I want to support, but have not found this.
Currency shehma has a true/false fla
flag
I shouldn't have to set all of these
what's the idiomatic way to filter languages and currency?

Hello guys. I would like to ask, have you noticed any issues with sourcemaps?
Basically the last few days we can't set a breakpoint to where we want to,
and even when using a debugger the breakpoint misses completely.

How actually do not reset DataBase after stop/run docker image? If im not wrong it is being reseted every time I rerun docker container

Follow-up to my issue: I tried to do it all over again, still the same problem. But it's worth noting that adding fields manually to /lib/collections/schemas/products.js does work perfectly (but of course I don't want to do it that way)

Anyone else interested in the problem of porting data from other stores to reaction?
I'm working on this now. In particular migrating data from spree

@dhonig we’ve got a new channel focused specifically on that and would be interested in seeing what you come up with. Check out the https://gitter.im/reactioncommerce/connectors channel on gitter (kinda empty right now, but just got started a day ago)

Hey all. Admittedly, I've not read through the docs, so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I wanted to know how much or little is involved before jumping in and using RC in terms of modeling your data on Mongo?

Meaning, I'm sure there are some standard DM and schemas to describe products, but is it usually the case that you have to have all your data in the DB and schemas sorted out before stepping in?

hi @gbravodev Here’s a good place to start for ReactionCommerce schemas https://github.com/reactioncommerce/reaction/tree/master/lib/collections/schemas

Ok, great thanks. Im coming more from a node-express background building custom apis, but don't have much experience with e-commerce. I know the data modeling can get pretty intense, so I was just more curious if RC kind of took the thinking out of it, or if it's still the kind of thing you have to really have in order to then implement within RC

@tarzak re your speed issue, how is your mongo database setup ? is it external or internal ? are you using replica sets ?

Hey core team, just wanted to thank you guys for all the work you've put into the platform. My business finally released our online store (https://mcew.co) this past Sunday, and we are happy with the way Reaction performed. Keep it up guys.
Also, when can we expect another official release?

Hi is there a production ready version of reactioncommerce available on docker or github? I deployed the docker version but it is extremely slow once live. Here is the domain "naturalmedicinepharmacy.com". It is running on a 512mb digital ocean instance right now so that could be part of the problem but the size of reactioncommerce is over 2 gb. Is there a way to reduce the repositories size or speed up reactioncommerce anyway if a production version is not available? Thank you!
Jeremy Shimko
@jshimko
May 09 2017 19:14
The $5 tier at Digital Ocean is not quite enough for good production performance.
I recommend at least their $10 or $20 tier
Curran
@curranabell
May 09 2017 19:21
Ok perfect that is what I am assuming. It was just so slow that I thought I needed to prepare a production version. Thanks @jshimko

@tarzak you’ll want to supply external DB credentials for a persistent DB. (env MONGO_URL). @tarzak @curranabell we’ve also got a new channel for deployment https://gitter.im/reactioncommerce/deployment - empty right now, as we just created the new channels the other day and haven’t really announced them, but feel free to jump in...
