@rakeshkumar5b4 Unfortunately no. This is a bug in Meteor that they are working on. You can track the progress on it here: reactioncommerce/reaction#1590

Hi all, I've noticed alot of extensions don't have a great degree of test coverage etc. What's the mindset on testing, using Mocha or tools like Chimp?

@channel hey guys, is it necessary to use blaze for theming and creating new pages? I thought we were using react

Hi Rahul, you are correct that we are using React. It is not necessary to use blaze. Our theming docs may be a little behind our transition to React, but we're working as hard as we can on that right now.

ohkies, thats great
I would like to use react. Once I am better versed with your code base I would not need docs :)

did you re-install node from scratch following the instructions on their page, no sudo, no admin, no root?
because if reaction-cli is installed correctly, you will see a different error message if you aren’t inside a reaction folder
the only way you will the error you’re seeing is if something is not installed correctly, or permissions are not correct with the way it’s installed
and there really isn’t anything we can do on our end if node or npm or reaction-cli aren’t installed correctly

Hi, I am following the tutorials on creating a custom plugin. I am up to here
https://docs.reactioncommerce.com/reaction-docs/development/plugin-customizing-templates-4
I am having trouble with anything past the beginning of this page, all I am seeing on my site is “Oops! This page was not found.”

It is very frustrating as I have gone back to the beginning of the tutorials 3 times now ang gotten to the same part with the same thing happening. It is not the expected broken behaviour at the start of this page, but continuing through all of this page. I get the site back when I put this line
Session.set("DEFAULT_LAYOUT", "coreLayoutBeesknees”);
back to
Session.set("DEFAULT_LAYOUT", "coreLayout”);

Any help please? This is driving me nuts.

@eltanno Can you try just omitting that step?

Just don’t do the Session.set and see if that solves your problem?

I dont think I have explained myself well, I am following the tutorials to gain knowledge in how the system works. I am new. I have no previous knowledge and am using this guide to teach myself how the code works. I am not comfortable skipping steps as I know nothing. I dont konw what Session.set is as it has not been mentioned in the tutorials.

Thanks for the help btw.

I just reread that and see what you mean, the part of the tutorial that I am on is specifically to set that template. If I skip it i get nothing from the tutorial.

Yes, I am familiar with the tutorial as I wrote it

Awesome. Sorry for the attitude, im getting pretty frustrated.
So if I skip that line, it will not load the new core.html template. How do I learn to make a plugin without it?

No worries. What I am saying is there might be an error in the tutorial.
Are you using the reaction-example-plugin?

No, I was creating the files as i went along to teach myself the code better.
The step by step nature of the tutorials suits my learning better to understand where the files go and why rather than the download and poke around method

Right, that’s the right way to go about it
What that has is a method that changes the layout records here: https://github.com/reactioncommerce/reaction-example-plugin/blob/master/server/init.js#L35

Thats ok. Also, the tutorial pages have an odd behaviour when clicking the link at the bottom of the tutorial to move onto the next page, rather than then link in the side nav. The site hangs when clicking the bottom one, but works fine from the side. Im in chrome on osx latest version.
Thanks again.
