Hi I installed the official reaction-example-plugin and after I did a reaction reset then reactioncommerce would not load locally. It was just a blank screen. Is the plugin supposed to work? I am trying to get my plugin to load but it is not working correctly.

Does reaction only work with mongo db v 3.2 and not v 3.4 ?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
May 18 2017 06:19
We work with whatever versions of Mongo that Meteor supports. I think 3.2 is the “supported” version

We are rolling out our hosted service platform. You can sign up on our website to get news about it. It’s very close.

@zenweasel Mobile View is broken, I first thought it was just my site. Just take a look at https://hello.reactioncommerce.com/ e.g. in Chrome,
and resize the window or use the mobile preview of the dev tools
it doesnt scale properly and uses more than 100% of the width
@llawcy is right.

hi to all, sorry if I'm writing in the wrong place but, please have you some examples of working production e-commerce built in reaction commerce? I'm trying to persuade managers in my company to trust us to use this platform :)

As soon as you go to a product detail page, e.g. https://artlimes.com/artlimes/product/journey-in-the-aegean
you can scroll far to the right
as the detail text doesnt break lines
But the filtering code is really interesting
Daniel Honig
@dhonig
May 18 2017 12:29
@janus-reith that should definetly wrap
instead of scroll

but as I mentioned I like to change paradigm totally i the near future :)
Daniel Honig
@dhonig
May 18 2017 12:46
absolutely
One of the reasons that I'm excited about reaction is that the upgrade path and modularity of the platform is really solid
so far I've found no reason that my entire customization for a store front cannot exist solely in a plugin
so when its time to upgrade my code is completely isolated from the platform
that doesn't meant that there are no changes required, but it does mean its a much cleaner seperation than you typically see with the magento/spree/atg projects I've worked with
so you can add that to your +'s column

@janus-reith I’ve been looking at the site using the iPhone simulator and I’m not seeing what he was seeing. Are you?

that is what I see

@zenweasel well isn't the second image showing the error?
The navbar is cut off at the right, eg the cart button is not in view, and probably goes beyond the screen width and becomes visible if you scroll
Oh I get it, we were talking about different issues
So yeah, can't reproduce his error
but the navbar doesnt scale properly
which increases the whole pages width beyond 100%, which also makes scrolling down less intuitive

@zenweasel - here are the screenshots using the example plugin where the footer is applied for custom index page but not in product detail page

first screenshot is where the footer layout is applied in home or index page.

Yeah, @Faiz7412 we’re hard at work on this functionality and you’ll see a lot of activity over the next couple days defining functional specs and over the next 3 months building out the inital release of these features.
