hello can anyone please recommend any not so expensive hosting for reaction commerce?
I have to say 2500 dollars is bit expensive for a startup project

what site is that?
if you are talking about our hosting, it’s true, it’s not intended for startups.

My top pick would be Galaxy which is the hosting company run by the Meteor Development Group

I think their regular plan should be <$100
Even cheaper would be Digital Ocean
Our instructions here show you how to deploy to Digital Ocean using Docker: https://docs.reactioncommerce.com/reaction-docs/master/deploying-reaction-using-docker

why not aws?
@zenweasel ?

I think if you spin up the AWS server the size you need it’s not that cheap, but AWS is also a good choice. Probably roughly comparable to DO, but requires a little bit more work

well, at least is a good (and cheap) place to start :)
ah, and aws gives 12 months free (free tier)
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 28 2017 08:49
yeah, but the free tier is too small to support Reaction.

so what are the recommended specs?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 28 2017 09:40
well, we recommend 2GB of memory
You might be able to get by with 1GB depending on the size of your shop

ok, nice :)
btw, my reaction shop takes about 3 min to startup on a mac mid 2014
isn't that too much?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Jun 28 2017 09:58
yeah, first startup can be slow on an older machine like that. But restarts should be pretty fast.

Hey there, just started reaction commerce development. Was assigned the task to make a custom payment provider. Had trouble from understanding the docs. Could please anyone help?

@MohitChattlani the payments are done as plugins so you can copy the source for existing ones look in this dir: imports\plugins\included\payments-example

What modifications do we need to do for making a custom payment provider in it?
Lets say CCAvenue

Hey there again :) I would like to add header and footer to that static page, but I don't understand how to do it

I created a second registerPackage in the registry.js of my plugin and tried to set up a template (header and footer) for my about page.

The result looks like this:

how do I add my custom header and footer to a static page like aboutUs the same way I set it on the product template?
