We don’t really support building mobile apps. It may or may not work, but I wouldn’t know where to start to help you

I mistake reactioncommerce. I think it use to build a mobile app and a cms manager for publisher and admin?

hello, I have this weird problem when I run "reaction init"
image.png
I should have everything installed normally, Windows git, build tools, meteor, reaction cli...
at first it had problem with spawning ssh.exe, I had to make links for ssh.exe and sh.exe in git folder, because nothing else worked(although I use git on this pc daily)

can you run git clone https://github.com/reactioncommerce/reaction.git ?
(that’s all reaction init is doing right there)

just make sure to run meteor npm i once in the project directory. reaction init also does that for you after the clone

what version of git?
Tomáš Bosek
@Bosek
Sep 01 2017 17:20
git version 2.7.1.windows.2
give me a minute, I'll update it to latest

it’s a long shot, but you could update
the error is from npm trying to pull down a module directly from a git repo. npm apparently isn’t seeing the git tools it needs
possibly a PATH issue or something like that

guess what :D

I should have used my Linux machine really...

you can say that again
;)
It occured to me recently that I could make a Reaction dev environment Docker image for cases like this. Just a linux OS that uses a copy of the Reaction code on your local file system (via an exposed volume). It would probably solve the neverending Windows dev setup headaches.

One thing that has me perplexed is the lack of HTML support in product descriptions. Even if it would keep line breaks that would be great. I did notice there is an issue in the queue for keeping hidden(html) and not escaping them or printing them to the screen.
Has it been considered to include a WYSIWYG editor to handle the description fields?

@jshimko are you still around? I've tried to reinstall Meteor and git, and didn't help, I found this in meteor log: 6422 error Command failed: git -c core.longpaths=true clone --template=C:\Users\Tomas\AppData\Local.meteor\packages\meteor-tool\1.5.1\mt-os.windows.x86_32\dev_bundle.npm_git-remotes_templates --mirror git@github.com:reactioncommerce/transliteration.git C:\Users\Tomas\AppData\Local.meteor\packages\meteor-tool\1.5.1\mt-os.windows.x86_32\dev_bundle.npm_git-remotes\git-github-com-reactioncommerce-transliteration-git-8d5184dd

Hi @NileFrater, the best one I have on my mind now is https://artlimes.com/
There are a few other ones but I don't remember their names. There was GetOutfitted, but apparently they've gone out of business and shut their website down.

@jshimko dockerized reaction dev env is what I've been toying with the past couple of days here mount in a reaction directory to /home/node/reaction and -p3001:3000 or similar, I have a makefile in there that prompts you for both
I multiboot to many OS on the same laptop and sometimes I just want to check if my local npm is the issue, and having another method of displaying current status is useful

@Bosek for that particular one to work you must have a valid key for git, see the help here, you can get around that by copying and pasting what @jshimko posted git clone https://github.com/reactioncommerce/reaction.git (because it is using the https form and and not the git@github.com, the former can be done anonymously, the latter requires a valid ssh key)
