@joshuacox yes, but shipping is limited to only a certain set of shipping companies. I would like to work with our own shipping company, any solution out there?

@redgenie I think if you want to integrate your own shipper you will probably need to write your own plugin
does you shipper have an API?

Yeah, that page has been removed. The requirements are now explicit on the platform-specific installation pages. Where did you find that linked?

@AlexeyLapushinskiy but then, I've to admit that I'm not very deep into the Windows specifics of Reaction.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to ask a question regarding workflows and layouts that I couldn't quite understand from the documentation.

I understand a layout is used to design how the page looks; what components go where. What is the point of a workflow?

Michael Jenny
@prinzdezibel

The workflow is the context of a specific layout. E.g. if you're in the checkout process, the currently active workflow is coreCartWorkflow. The layout for that workflow specifies which template is used for rendering the page and how the workflow steps should be rendered (The checkout process consists of 5 wizard steps, which are also known as workflow_steps)
A workflow does not need to span multiple steps. e.g. the landing page has its own workflow coreProductGridWorkflow and does not have any workflow_steps at all.
For a more detailed explanation, please see reactioncommerce/reaction-docs#348. It's not merged yet into our documentation, but I'm expecting to happen that very soon.

@joshuacox Here are my permissions
devin@Server:/root/reaction$ ls -alh ~/.reaction
total 16K
drwxrwxr-x 2 devin devin 4.0K Dec 11 09:31 .
drwxrwxrwx 15 devin devin 4.0K Dec 11 09:31 ..
-rw-rw-r-- 1 devin devin 85 Dec 11 09:31 config.json
-rw-rw-r-- 1 devin devin 68 Dec 11 09:31 .id
I did all the commands you gave me and if I try to run it on root the same error appears. If I do it on devin it just says "Error creating Reaction CLI config directory"

Is there any way someone can make a video tutorial about how to install reaction on Linux?
