Is it possible to have multivendor marketplace without Stripe Connect?
Stripe isn't supported in our country
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel

Not out of the box. It is the only vendor that supports a marketplace payout model.
You would need to implement your own payment provider in the same vein
Aladin

Feb 26 2018 09:56
Ok, it doesn't have to be automatic, we pay vendors directly from the bank rather than using a tool like Stripe
We're already on WooCommerce with multivendor plugin, but Wordpress is a mess with ecommerce
So we really want to migrate to Reaction now
I tried a fresh install and I'm not seeing all settings on the Dashboard. Using admin@localhost / r3@cti0n, I see only: Orders, Accounts, Login Services, Shop, Email. That's all

This is weird
Any errors in the console?
Aladin

So:
1 - For the marketplace, we have to develop the plugin
2 - Is there a tool to migrate WooCommerce products to Reaction?
3 - Why can't I see all settings?
@loanlaux Nope
I tried with different browsers
Screen Shot 2018-02-26 at 2.00.25 PM.png
4 - I click on the default product and nothing happens (when logged out)

There's no tool to migrate WooCommerce products to Reaction, as far as I know. There was a proof of concept for a Magento importer a while ago but I didn't see anything for WC. Might be a good occasion to contribute to the community. I'd love to work with you on this. No idea about the settings, I've never heard of that bug before. Maybe @zenweasel knows what it is?
Can you send a screenshot of your /imports/plugins/core and /imports/plugins/included directories?
@loanlaux I just cloned the repository, then I "docker-compose up"
Loan Laux
@loanlaux
Feb 26 2018 10:02
Oh, using Docker—I see
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:02
I didn't do any installation nor did I touch any file
Loan Laux
@loanlaux
Feb 26 2018 10:03
I'll be honest, I have no idea why it would be that way. I'll let someone from the core team take over here.
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:03
@loanlaux If there's no WC importer, does Reaction import products from an Excel or CSV file?
Ok
Loan Laux
@loanlaux
Feb 26 2018 10:04
There's a CSV importer somewhere on GitHub. Let me find the link again.
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:05
@redgenie
  1. That’s correct
  2. No there are not.
  3. I don’t know, I’ve never seen that before

There you go: https://github.com/getoutfitted/reaction-product-importer. Not sure that it still works though. Last commit was 10 months ago and a lot has changed since.
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:06
Your best bet is to export JSON
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:06
JSON is better than CSV, yes, there's an importer for that?
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:06
We use JSON natively if you can get it in our format it will intake it
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:07
I'm not sure why there's no dev going on for plugins for Reaction, it seems that most plugins have been developed since 2 years and then abandoned
@zenweasel Ok, gotta figure out the json format
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:07
Not sure what you mean by that
I think maybe you are looking at the Atmosphere packages? Which we migrated away from when Meteor did
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:08
I mean, if you see around WC or Magento 2, there are a lot of plugins (free and paid), but for Reaction, you can only find few things on github and most of them are abandoned
But anyway, it's fine, we will try to dev our own plugins, what's important is the platform in itself. It's not working with a fresh install (using docker-compose up).

@redgenie I have a Node script that turns Excel files into Reaction Commerce compatible Products.json files. It's not public as it's really a quick-n-dirty solution. I can send it your way if it helps.
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:10
@redgenie Have you tried not using Docker?
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:11
@zenweasel Still not, but is there a reason to why it might not work in Docker?
@loanlaux That would be great
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:12
reactioncommerce/reaction#3491 No, but you and I are apparently the only people who see this issue
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:13
Oh yeah
It's exactly the same
The WARN layout errors
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:14
What OS are you on?
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:17
I did that on a live Ubuntu Server
AWS LIghtsail
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:18
Apparently almost no one is having this problem except for you and I and the occasional community member
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:19
http://54.251.139.147:3000/ you can see it. There's another error which prevents the product page from working. If you click on the sample product, nothing happens
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:19
Yeah, it layouts don’t load it;s not going to work
And settings don’t load which is why plugins don’t show up
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:20
Exactly
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:20
So my suggestion would be to just not use Docker for now unless we can reliably reproduce this problem and fix it
I think it has to do with the version of Mongo somehow
Aladin
@redgenie
Feb 26 2018 10:21
I cannot deploy without Docker. We will be using Kubernetes or Docker Compose at least
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 10:23
Yeah, I don’t know what else to tell you. Maybe @jshimko can help when he is around

Do you have all the prerequisites installed like Xcode?
RagamAnekaGlobal
@RagamAnekaGlobal

yes
Brent Hoover
@zenweasel
Feb 26 2018 11:59
What was the error you are seeing?
RagamAnekaGlobal
@RagamAnekaGlobal
Feb 26 2018 11:59
There is no error, but keep loading very long time
2 hour no result

stuck in here:

sharp@0.19.0 install /Users/stevanuswijaya/GoodyPie/node_modules/sharp
node-gyp rebuild

I had some issue with node-gyp after updating to the latest Xcode that came out a few days, and had to fix some local paths that had changed, sharp wasn’t recompiling.. obviously should not take minutes, (never mind hours) -> did it eventually build or is there actual error output? I’d be curious if I am the only one who had problems with the xcode update? (the trick for fixing xcode for me was: xcode-select —install && sudo xcode-select --switch /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/

@RagamAnekaGlobal i saw weird hangs like that when i was installing on a VM that was under spec'd ... npm didn't bail when the drive ran out of space but rather it just sat there indefinitely until i ctrl-c'd it

Hi, When I add a new shop and try to edit it's address I'm getting the following toast error pop-up Shop general settings update failed. Error: Access denied [403]
Any idea why this might be?
just updated to 1.8.0 - in 1.7.0 I couldn't get this far as the shop wouldn't create due to an existing issue
William Moss
@willmoss1000
Feb 26 2018 16:44
above - appears to only be an issue when inviting a seller via email - an extension of the bug before where the shop wasn't created
*untrue - still doesn't work

hey all - any reviews on the new release (1.8+) in regards to build performance?

I've verified the above on a fresh install @prinzdezibel or @zenweasel could you verify this, or should I write it up as a bug on github first?
