Hi, is there anyway to have a product without a variant / not display the variant name but still have quantity and price.
Basically, I have a product which is the default option. It doesn't have any variants. But I am still having to give it some variant name.

No. Top level products are just really containers for marketing information. It’s variants that you actually sell

Ok. Thanks @zenweasel
Also, would it be possible to edit the codes to accept such a feature? Or would it be too tough to do?

It would be a pretty significant change. Much of the system assumes there is going to be a product/variant heirarchy

Understood. Thanks for the info!

@rohit-elevar There should be ways around this without making it too complicated. You could keep the current product/variant concept intact, but modify the PDP to auto select the first/only variant, but not render it on the pdp. Then, if there are more of these products, maybe edit the product admin code to auto generate a first variant, or if it doesn't have to be fancy, to render it if edit mode is active.

Hey, I'm new to reaction and my favourite feature is the marketplace feature. I just have to two questions about the feature though :

1) Can two or more shop owners have their brand hosted on separate domains
2) Can two or more shop owners share the same product listing. In the sense both shops will share the same stock.

@janus-reith That makes perfect sense! I'll try it out. Thankyou for the help!

@amansahil The ability for shops to be hosted on different domains has been added in 1.14, which will come out very soon. At least I believe it is, but I'll ask @pnewell4_twitter to confirm. As for two or more shop owners sharing product listings, this isn't built-in afaik.

@amansahil you are the second person is as many days to ask this!
@loanlaux is correct on both questions: the ability for shops to live on different domains is coming out soon (1.14.0); products cannot appear in multiple shops out of the box, but I don't imagine it would be too difficult to modify the product feed to show all of the products from both the Current Shop and the Primary Shop.
This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but maybe it will get the wheels turning.

@amansahil Regardless, I believe you should file a feature request on https://github.com/reactioncommerce/reaction-feature-requests about the multi-shop products

We’ve completed our goal for 1.14 which was to remove all the optional plugins, so we are just moving into bug-fix and release mode now
So I expect it will be released either late this week or early next :crossed_fingers:

they are out of the repo, right?

@pnewell4_twitter Generally there is no plan. We are explicitly moving these out of the repo to an “unsupported” state. I don’t foresee us doing any bug fixes to things like the Authorize.net payment plugin. We hope those will be supported by people in the community that use them, if those people exist. However I do think we are interested in keeping a few of the plugins like Avalara and Shippo up-to-date. I expect that my team will probably end up doing that to some extent. To what extent exactly is undetermined.

There’s still discussion about this so it may change. But the core team (Spencer’s team) will not be supporting them.
+1 on Robo 3T

Some of these integrations are key to Reaction's success IMO. I understand your point on Authorize.net, but things like Shippo and Avalara really should be supported in the long term. Also, the Shopify connector was a great idea that I wouldn't like to see go away, although I've never used it. But I see the business point in keeping it around (making it easy for people to switch to Reaction sounds like a good thing to do). TL;DR: I'm supporting the idea of relying on the community and dropping official support for the most niche plugins. However I really hope that the core team continues to make compatibility updates on the most important ones. Will you guys release a blog post with detailed plans on which plugins will still get updates from core devs?

When going through the tutorial at: https://docs.reactioncommerce.com/docs/next/plugin-fixtures-5, Reaction.Importer was mentioned but didn't really go into much detail. I found what I was looking for at https://github.com/getoutfitted/reaction-product-importer.
