@redscare
yea, i understood you
HarisSpahijaPon
@HarisSpahijaPon
Page size should be the 20/60/100 right?
I am just super curious as in why CatalogGrid behaves like this
Vladimir Puz
@redscare
the idea was, that it is behaving like that due to Apollo optimistic response on screen size calculation
HarisSpahijaPon
@HarisSpahijaPon
Yea I noticed something like that
Also when putting components next to the catalog grid on ProductGrid they will load slower than CatalogGrid
Even a simple text
HarisSpahijaPon
@HarisSpahijaPon
It looks like there are 2 main problems going on. ProductGrid is being loaded at the same time with app. Thus showing the 4 images. After that the <ContainerQuery /> from "react-container-query" is ran. This will cause to have cataloggrid to be rerendered and setting the 3 like it is supposed to
I have to find a way to not show the productgrid when it has not ran the react-container-query yet. For example only showing the isLoading will sufficee
Because right now it very jumpy and I don't like that
really weird why some components are properly prerendered and the other ones are hydrated. As if we are not making use of the fullest potential from nextjs
Vladimir Puz
@redscare
yea, i also really do not like how cart behaves... on slow connection instead of loading it shows empty cart with 0, which is really confusing
HarisSpahijaPon
@HarisSpahijaPon
Do you think there is some js file crashing and holding up the rest of the loading up?
Wait let me check in network
Hmm
analytics.min.js from segment analytics seems to fail. Literally immediately after the rest of the page loads
Makes me feel like apollo is getting priority over analytics scripts
HarisSpahijaPon
@HarisSpahijaPon
and then scripts is getting stuck, making everything else getting queued

Anyone from Reaction Team could guide me as to the pre-reqs needed to be learned to build commerce solution - Web & Native Apps.
I am a frontend developer (React Native), but a noob at backend. I would like to use reaction to power by backend e-commerce features for my next project. So, it would be great if you guide me as to what tools/frameworks I should get myself comfortable with so as to navigate the Reaction code & docs seamlessly and use it.

Thanks!

@rondlite
trying to use hydra login from reaction platform for another app I am trying to add to the platform.. all well, but I dont get any details on the user when logged in, is it correct that they should be taken from graphql after the login?
Salman Thaikat
@salmanthaikkat
Where can i find a proper docuementation on how to use the graphql api's?
Marc
@Ownmarc
hello, I am wondering if it is possible to deploy this project on a Jetson Nano which is an ARM system. Most of my dockers seem to fail to build and exit with this error: standard_init_linux.go:211: exec user process caused "exec format error"
Is there a way to do it ?
HarisSpahijaPon
@HarisSpahijaPon
I think a great start would be to just play around with the current repo's from reaction. Did you manage to run your backend first?
@Ownmarc Seems like your docker is not set up properly. Could you see if you can run any other docker instance/compose?
Also try this #!/usr/bin/env bash
at the top of your script file

@redscare
finally got my reaction dev-env working on Windows WSL, except of file changes does not trigger updated. Does anyone know how to fix filesystem watchers on WSL?
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
I know some people have it working on WSL, @redscare, but no idea who they are. Hopefully they’ll just chime in here.

@the-petrolhead
@dhonig Can you share the terraform code to deploy the reaction platform to AWS? I'm trying to do the same and thought I could use your help!

How do i override reaction-component-library component style? F.e if i want to add some styling to ProductInfo component, which is styled component in CartItemDetail.
is there a way to override its styles, or somehow pass ProductInfo via props?
Vladimir Puz
@redscare
what is recomended way of doing that?

QUESTION: I am currently working on v3 of the API and am encountering some weird issue using a private npm registry in docker build process. I added a custom .npmrc file in the source pointing to our private registry. Defined the token and host. From my local machine its working like a charm, but in a cloud build it's not. The registry keeps pointing to the npmjs one... even whilst I have the .npmrc file pointing to some other url. Anyone fixed this issue or knows how to fix this?
Bart Janssen
@bjanssen-pon
I might have found the issue.... the Dockerfile uses FROM reactioncommerce/node-prod:12.14.1-v2 which overrides any custom inserted files like .npmrc. I am working on a default Dockerfile I can use without breaking stuff.
HarisSpahijaPon
@HarisSpahijaPon
@redscare There is! Did you check the documentation of the component-library?
vovapilimon
@vovapilimon
Hey. Tell me how to add a new order through the admin panel (I don’t see the add order button)? Can I bind sending emails when changing order status?
Bart Janssen
@bjanssen-pon
@vovapilimon, there is no option to add a new order via the admin UI. For sending emails when changing the orderstatus, you can simply create a plugin in the API and trigger the email event via an AppEvent hook.
Vladimir Puz
@redscare
@HarisSpahijaPon well... yes, I read that, but the problem is that, as i understand, i can override only components which are "real components" and i was talking about a component which is a styled.div
it is defined as const ProductInfo = styled.div` align-items: center; display: flex; justify-content: space-between; padding-bottom: 0; padding-left: 0; padding-right: 0; padding-top: ${applyTheme("CatalogGridItem.verticalSpacingBetweenImageAndInfo")}; `;
so how do i do it, if i want f.e to add padding to it
Haris Spahija
@HarisSpahija
you can always just copy the component into the storefront
and reference it inside the component context
@redscare
This way you can completely customize it, but it will no longer be inherited from reaction-component-library
Vladimir Puz
@redscare
yes, that's how I did it for now, but it is really bad implementation. There are a lot of things, that have to be imported as dependencies. Like utils, theme etc.

How to make a similar tag hierarchy in reaction v3?
