Good for you haha. Which crypto if I may ask?
sgmihai
@sgmihai
mostly ETH, and some XMR
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
Nice
ETH is crazy these days.
sgmihai
@sgmihai
could've been 100 mil, so I get pennies vs the potential (been in crypto for a few years lol)
But I really do not enjoy keeping a constant eye on the markets, I wanna create some valuable stuff for society, not just gains from speculations.
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
I imagine. And the constant anxiety of your investments being wiped any second while you’re sleeping.
So yeah, as I was saying: Reaction is a great choice if you intend to have a developer work on your project and do custom work for you. Which, for anyone who’s seriously tackling a project like this, is realistically the only option. For projects like multi-vendor marketplaces, platforms that promise you the world (Sharetribe for example) with little to no code will usually limit you so much that you’ll have to adapt your business to fit the capabilities of the software. With Reaction, it’s the opposite.
sgmihai
@sgmihai
No, this will absolutely be self hosted and with an opensource core. There can be no other way.
I don't care how cheap it is, you're giving up much control, as you said, relying on SaaS.

@ahsanazeem313
Hey everyone, may i find any link or repo where i can get open-source plugins for reaction commerce.
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
@ahsanazeem313 What kind of plugins are you looking for?
ahsanazeem313
@ahsanazeem313
@loan-laux we need plugin for counter-offer/bidding feature for market place where a buyer can bid/ counter offer his price for a product to buy
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
@ahsanazeem313 That’s very specific. I can tell you for sure that you won’t find this as an open-source plugin.
Why not build it yourself?
To be very honest with you, if you’re expecting to jam a couple of plugins together and get something working with minimal dev work, Reaction isn’t the platform for you. This would be more of a Shopify/WooCommerce approach. Very different way of working. RC is more geared towards custom work.
ahsanazeem313
@ahsanazeem313
@loan-laux thanks . we are going to build custom plugins ,just want to confirm if its available then we will not spend our time on it.
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
Good luck @ahsanazeem313! Looks like a cool project you’re working on, by the way.
ahsanazeem313
@ahsanazeem313
@loan-laux one more think i want to ask you. i have find only Dockerfile for production env. can i get for dev environment or i have to write it myself.
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
@ahsanazeem313 In every Reaction sub-project (whether it’s the API, the example storefront or the admin UI), you have a docker-compose.dev.yml file which contains instructions for a symlink to enable dev mode.
Just open whichever docker-compose.dev.yml you need, and run the ln command mentionned in the comments at the top of the file.
ahsanazeem313
@ahsanazeem313
yes i enabled dev mode but i deployed reaction commerce on ecs so that is why i am looking for this.
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
Not sure I understand… You need to run dev mode on ECS?
ahsanazeem313
@ahsanazeem313
ok thanks. now i get the point we will enable dev mode using these commands and work on it and will deploy every API on ecs after this.
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
That’s the idea, yes. Work on something locally, then get it deployed on your test environment when you’re done.
ahsanazeem313
@ahsanazeem313
thanks @loan-laux
CHANDAN PATRA
@chandan450
Hi everyone, can anyone please tell me if reaction commerce which is now Mailchimp open commerce is multi tenant or not?
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
@chandan450 The API provides multi-tenant features, but the built-in example UIs (storefront and admin) are single-tenant.
CHANDAN PATRA
@chandan450
@loan-laux Can you throw some light on what you said.. like if there can only be one admin or one storefront. Also do every tenant we partner with will have their own domain and everything?
Hassam79
@Hassam79
on admin panel navigation drag and drop not working? is it issue in current version or only i am facing this issue?
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
@chandan450 There can be as many different storefronts as you want connected to the API. There can also be one storefront that shows products from all the stores on that Open Commerce instance (a-la Amazon/eBay). You can have as many stores as you want and as many admins for each of these individual stores as you want. Admins can also administer multiple stores, if you want to give them this right.
@Hassam79 It’s a known issue. If you want to investigate, your help is welcome. reactioncommerce/reaction-admin#359
CHANDAN PATRA
@chandan450
@loan-laux So we can say that it enable every tenant to use their own domain and customize their stores as per their needs. Right?
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
That would be correct, @chandan450.
CHANDAN PATRA
@chandan450
Thanks @loan-laux

Hi everyone, someone knows how to accept a shop manager invitation on admin platform? I submitted it from Account options but I don't know how it works
Loan Laux
@loan-laux
@luiscelanomrb You should have received an e-mail at the address you’ve sent the invite to. If not, make sure your SMTP settings are ok. If you don’t want to set up e-mail for now, you can just go and sign up with the e-mail you’ve sent the invite to.

Hello everyone!
This is Akarshit from Mailchimp and I had a news to share with you all. We are officially moving off Gitter and will be migrating to Discord.
Here is the invite to the server: https://discord.gg/Bwm63tBcQY
I request you all to deprecate this channel and move conversations to the Discord server.
Overtime expect all the gitter links to be converted into discord server links...

@ahsanazeem313 Is your Hydra admin service supposed to be accessible with the DNS name hydra?
@luiscelanomrb The navigation panel is broken in the current beta version. It’s a known issue. If you want to investigate, your help is welcome. reactioncommerce/reaction-admin#359

I will not be answering questions on Gitter anymore. Let’s all move to Discord, as @Akarshit said. https://discord.gg/Bwm63tBcQY
