@josezuazo oh yeah, sorry about that, there were some build issues with the edison. I will try get some of the guys to get a build of Edison up in the coming week. And yes, unmanaged resinOS on works on the 2.x version, we will try get the 2.0-beta.7 sometime in the next week as well

whats the easiest way I get the device name with an API?
I was hoping it was on the device agent but I cant find it in the docs

@danielbh there is this call in the API, vetting the name from the device id: https://docs.resin.io/runtime/data-api/#get-name is this what you are looking for?

is there a way to get the deviceId with the device agent api?
I'm trying to use the same device name in my client app as I do with resin
So what I do is I send the device name to my client app on websocket connection
but I need to be able to pull the deviceName of the device connecting. Do you see my problem?
oh just figured it out
printenv
echo $RESIN_DEVICE_UUID

The device ID is availabe las an environment variable https://docs.resin.io/runtime/runtime/#the-container-environment
The device name is also available as an env var, just check by connecting to your device though the web console and isse the printenv command to see tha available vars

Can you keep the device online, and contact support with the help button for an update and check? (With a link to the device dashboard)
Daniel Hollcraft
@danielbh

It says support might be spotty at the moment. Do you think it would be faster to just reprovision the device if possible?
because of vacation
Daniel Hollcraft
@danielbh
Dec 27 2016 14:39
Im just going to reprovision. Thanks for your help.
Gergely Imreh
@imrehg
Dec 27 2016 14:45
Sure thing. Btw, you can also use the resin-cli to reprovision the device with the same uuid. You can see the resin cli help for more details if you'd like to do that (would be something like downloading the image from the dashboard, burning it, then using the cli to modify the card and set it up with the exisiting uuid)

Hi. "Guide to cellular connectivity" recommends using resinOS 2.0, while after creating an application I'm being offered to download resinOS 1.24, 1.24.1 and 1.8. Where to get version 2.0?

@TomKomar currently to use v2.0 you need to sign up for an account at dashboard.resinstaging.io .. which is the resin.io staging environment where features are tested and played around with, so expect things to break from time to time. The good news is that v2.0 is on the march to production and should be there in the next month or so as long as nothing goes too far off track.

@shaunmulligan damn, I really should get working on 2.0 then ;)
we're currently in the progress of making something similar to the wifi-connect, so I guess it's better to wait for 2.0 (and develop via staging) than bother with 1.x
