[Alison Davis (alisondavis17)] @ruudboon the next event we plan to attend is the Things Network conference in Amsterdam in early February, then we will likely attend the Embedded Linux conference in Portland, Oregon (USA) in March.

We usually try to keep the upcoming events section on https://resin.io/community/ up to date, although I see there is an issue with it right now, which I will investigate :)

How I can attach to the App container via UART?
I'm doing debug on some network related application that keep making the wlan0 down.. so I can't debug it via SSH or resin.io dashboard
The current image is development, I can get to the "Host OS" shell via UART but don't know how to attach to the "App Container" shell

@SandPox what version of resinOS? once you are in the hostOS shell, you can use regular docker exec to get into the container/app. so something like docker exec -it <containerID> /bin/sh , where containerID is the idea of your application when you run docker ps -a

on versions of resinOS > 2.7.8 you will need to change the docker -> balena

anyone know if resin natively supports docker-compose for multiple docker images on a single node yet? I found this but curious if there's an update: https://resin.io/blog/multi-container-with-docker-compose-on-resin-io/

@jgentes to my knowledge not yet, though I could be wrong
I believe balena is the multi-container project coming soon to resin that might allow docker-compose like functionality

@dhoney thanks, I was looking at that as well but didn't see it explicitly mentioned

[Alison Davis (alisondavis17)] @jgentes @dhoney we are working on releasing support for multi-container ASAP - you can read more here: https://forums.resin.io/t/state-update-multicontainer/1592
[Alison Davis (alisondavis17)] this is separate from our work on balena, which is our Moby-based Docker container engine
[Alison Davis (alisondavis17)] our implementation of multi-container will support docker compose
[Alison Davis (alisondavis17)] you will basically be able to push a project with a docker-compose.yml file at the root of your project, so that you can deploy your application as a set of services

Hey @resinio I saw where @ruudboon mentioned there was a virtualized version ResinOS... would this also work with resin.io?

if so, is there any documentation, guides, blog post on how to do this?

also, do you have any virtualized resin devices that simulate GPIO / sensor data?
